Parking scam. Do not visit Went for a drink two weeks ago. We were there 30mins and now have a £60 parking fine. The sign as you enter says “Customer parking 11:00 to midnight”. There is nothing clear to suggest not parking there while using the establishment. There should be clear signage starting their ludicrous system, and there quite simply isn’t. Very deceptive and borderline criminal. Will never visit this place again and will ensure none of my friends and family do. Disgusted. With regards Bristol inn’s response: Firstly, there is no additional signage in the car park. Just the sign stating “customers only” with a time window in alignment with pub opening times, this is deceiving and wouldn’t raise alarm bells. Many pubs have a private land sign stating patrons only, this isn’t dissimilar, and it certainly doesn’t state anything about penalty fees or a parking system. If there is no parking and there are penalty fees it should be clear. (“No parking, penalty fees apply” and certainly no mention of “Customers only and a time window in alignment with pub opening times) The detail should be displayed in the car park, but it isn’t. You mention about the console at the end of the bar. I’ve never noticed this, I simply went to the centre of the bar where the bar staff are, and not once has anything been mentioned to me about the parking system. It would seem this is the same with the dozens of other frustrated customers who have posted reviews regarding this. It’s just not good enough. You are shying away from the fact your customers are being scammed with the screen of it’s not our problem, it’s not our car park. is is your problem and is surely your responsibility to ensure the signage is clear and that your customers are protected. You don’t make every effort to inform costumers. I wasn’t informed and neither were the dozens of other customers who have wrote reviews about this topic. If we were aware we wouldn’t have bloody parked there and thrown away £60. I did try to call yesterday, the call went to answerphone and guess what. The main topic on the recording is about parking fines. (If you are enquiring about a parking fine please contact the parking company directly, we do own the car park etc, etc) This clearly confirms you know there is a problem, and equally highlights your lack of care or compassion with regards rectifying it. I have visited other pubs who operate parking fee systems and impose penalties, and all have been clearly signed regarding this. Yours isn’t. There’s no way I will pay your fine.

My Father visited this pub (77yrs of age), wasn't told there was a car park that you needed to pay. He now has a debt recovery agent after him for £170. You had a new bar member, I'd like your help please. We have lost our Mum to mixed dementia.

Stumbled across this little gem en route to Cornwall and what a find it was. A genuine warm greeting with quality freshly cooked home food to match. Great menu with sizeable portions so come Hungry!

BEWARE. My pint and crisps have just cost me £65. Dropped in for a pint while waiting to meet a friend. That was fine. What is not is the £60 parking fine I have had in the post today - meaning that my pint and crisps have cost me £65. Yes, I should have been paying more attention - but you don't expect this in a pub car park. It was a dark and rainy October evening. Signage is rubbish, both inside and out - certainly not obvious to me. And I didn't see the signing in console (assuming there is one). As a new customer wearing a coat and ordering at the bar, the bar staff, who must know of the issue, really should have asked me if I had parked in the car park and signed-in. They didn't. £60 fine. I have no intention...

Not my local anymore because I moved to a tiny village however going back to it today, under new management I saw a familiar face behind the bar (I'm so sorry I never remember your name and you have told me it plenty of times) but she's endured that pub changing many hands and is still there, it's still a lovely pub in a lovely area and I'm still infinitely fond of it and it's one of the many things about Clevedon that makes me desperate to come back.

I hope to one day, but for now it's for me a fantastic pit stop when I come down from Hobbiton to get my hair cut and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone...
