Me and my mum decided to pop into Cafe Monet earlier this afternoon as part of our first visit to the Water Gardens...and what a mistake it was. We ordered the quiche and side salad, one with half a jacket potato. We were told there was a bit of a wait, which we appreciated as the cafe was very busy. The photos below show what was delivered some 20-30 minutes later. Each cost between £12 - £13. A quarter slice of quiche that could well have been bought from M&S. A half jacket potato that was burnt and dry. And a side salad that had probably come out of a packet. Absolutely outrageous. Shame on you Cafe Monet. After this, we then had to pay £12 each to visit the Water Gardens - which were beautiful but the experience was tainted by our pathetic lunch beforehand! Not to be repeated. Do better Cafe Monet.

Popped in for lunch before heading into the water gardens and so glad we did. We had jacket potatoes with cheese and chutney, with a side of coleslaw and salad, and a coffee and walnut cake too. The food was delicious and perfect for a light lunch to keep us going until dinnertime. Service was quick and the lady serving was lovely although due to an unavoidable incident one the other staff members had to rush off for an emergency meaning she was overworked. My partner being kind helped clear just a few of the tables and this lovely lady rewarded us with cream tea. Couldn't praise her highly enough as she made our day.

Small cafe attached to water garden. You don't need to pay for a garden ticket to use the cafe. The staff were friendly and the cafe very clean. Some interesting local artwork on the walls. A very nice lunchtime menu. I had a prawn sandwich that was served with a side salad and crisps. The cheese platter looked fabulous, served to the table next to us.

Nestled on the same site as Bennett’s Water Park, Cafe Monet is an ideal spot for a pre or post water park visit for a drink and or something to eat.

A good selection of tea’s, coffees and everything from a slice of cake to cooked options, all very appealing.

We chose the ham ploughman’s and the baked potato with beans and cheese. Both of us were suitably impressed.

We will be back to sample some of those...
