Cafe Nexus — Restaurant in England

Mondays not a good day here !!! Called in for some lunch today 12:05. Not busy. My wife wanted eggs on toast but she only eats sourdough. Apparently not available unless you have one of the specials. We ordered one avocado and pepper and one chorizo and chicken both on sourdough bread and two coffees. The coffees arrived. We waited 20 minutes still no sign of the sandwiches (still not busy only a couple of customers.). Then the sandwiches came out (25 minutes). But alas the avocado one dropped on the floor and was picked up by a customer and put on the counter. They said another couple of minutes which was odd because it had taken 20+ minutes before. So after another 5 minutes both sandwiches came out but looked burnt on top !!!! There is no way that they prepared another sandwich in 5 minutes when it had taken 25 to get the originals. Anyway I went to the counter and said 30 minutes I thought was a little excessive for 2 sandwiches as they weren’t busy and asked for a refund. I asked to speak to the manager who was the chef. He said that Monday was a Preparation day and asked if I wanted a refund I said the sandwiches had already been refunded. So Monday is not a good day to go to this cafe especially if you’re in a hurry. We’ve previously had some nice meals here but thinking back never in a Monday. Would we return ? Probably not. When I arrived to meet a friend of mine hoping to have a nice meal and drink, they stopped serving food at 2.30pm.

Wasn’t exactly impressed to be honest as people don’t stop eating after 2.30pm and I don't really fancy eating factory ready made food from your fridge.

I did ask where is the sign that says no food serving after 2.30pm and the lady aggressively replied it’s up there on the board and pointing at it with her back towards me rather than speaking to me nicely and proceed to carry on cleaning!

All I can see is a small handwriting right at the top above a large menu….

Might be worth putting a sign on the counter to be more clearer.

Deeply Unprofessional attitude as they looked like they couldn’t wait to get out of there and go home!

Really bad services and I will not be arriving here again!

I'm going to go against the grain here.. I didn't enjoy my breakfast. I had the big breakfast and a latte. The latte was stronger than I expected but good coffee. The breakfast I felt was a let down, especially for the price (£10 big breakfast). It looked great when it arrived but that's where it stopped.
