I am writing to express my disappointment following a recent visit to your café. I came with my daughter and sister to enjoy coffee and cake, but unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. After placing our order, we waited over 30 minutes for our drinks. When I politely inquired about the status of our order, the response from a staff member was shockingly rude. She replied with, “Your drinks will come when they are ready,” in a disrespectful tone, accompanied by what I can only describe as a slapped expression, before walking away abruptly. Both my sister and I were left shocked by this interaction. I have worked in the hospitality industry for many years, and I understand the pressures that come with the job — but there is never any excuse for poor attitude or disrespectful customer service. Done with this place. Been popping in and out for a few years and while the coffee is always good the service and surliness is generally a level below. This is LB, not Shoreditch, not really much point. Add to that the weird closing time of 3pm makes it hard to use through the week. Final nail was dropping in today at 2pm, being ignored at the counter for several minutes and when looking around for somewhere to sit noticing they have, as usual, done their trick of close down half the place with a pre-clean before the 3pm close.
