I visited yesterday, I was in Leighton Buzzard for the day and wanted a family run establishment. It did not disappoint at all. My husband was working and I ordered a take out cappuccino for him and asked for a table for myself once I’d dropped his coffee of to him. I was offered a couple of tables and it was spotlessly clean. I was offered a menu once seated. I ordered the almond croissant and the granola pot to go with my cappuccino. It arrived and the croissant was HUGE! The granola was absolutely gorgeous, fresh and tasty.
Let’s get to the croissant - it was the best almond croissant I have tasted. The pastry was light and fluffy and the filling was plentiful. It was a taste sensation. I got chatting to the lady sat on the next table and even shared it with her as it was too big for me to finish!! It was difficult to eat it without a mmmm this is delicious after every mouthful!
I loved the community feel of the place either lots of people popping in on their own for a coffee to couples and friends meeting for a chat.I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and didn’t feel rushed at all and it was super busy.
I live in Leeds so a bit far to just pop in but if you are visiting Leighton Buzzard or live there you should 100%...
Read moreI’ve probably written one review ever. But having bought a coffee and croissant from the takeaway this chilly morning, I just have to say this is the best croissant I have had - and I’ve had a lot. The assistant explained that ALL their pastries are made by a member of their team on site. Well that meant I just had to try the plain croissant - even though the almond looked tempting too and I have a stinking cold and can’t really summon up the energy to eat anything apart from oranges and soup. She also explained that they use the highest quality vegan ‘butter’ so the croissant is also good to go for vegans. Without wanting to sound like the croissant police, the lamination was like a pretty petticoat of layers, crisp, and light. No stodgy, gunky, stomach loading centre, just fluffy and airy with enough form to take a bit of jam if you like your croissant that way. The coffee is a winner. The staff are kind and thoughtful too. I’m all for local independent businesses and this one is an absolute asset to...
Read moreThird time going to this restaurant. However, although the first two visits were good and we had no problems, this time was very different.
We took a little time to order and they did seem in a hurry to take our food choices. However, when we ordered our food then took 25 minutes to arrive. My friends meal was a good size and tasty she said. My pasta however was very small in portion and not really filling. When we left we advised the staff that we had attended the cafe before and were happy with everything. But thus time we had cause to complain. When we left we advised the staff that we had attended the cafe before and were happy with everything. But this time we had cause to complain. Instead of helping us they advised we must be wrong (accused us of lying) and food only took 15 mins to arrive. We were not offered any apologies or any small discount. My meal was over priced for a what was really a child’s size portion. We won’t...
