Me and my friend visited this spot to eat and charge our electric skateboards and unfortunately had a bit of a bad experience.

The full English was nice although the sausage was one of those super cheap ones you find in a greasy spoon.

We asked the man serving if we could charge our boards and he said we could, pointing out a charging port outside. We got the boards charging and asked the waitress if we could leave the boards on charge while we walked around town and she said that it was fine. When we returned we found that the sockets had been turned off likely more than an hour before we returned absolutely decimating our range and unfortunately we were unable to make it home.

The man who served us earlier told us that he turned them off as someone from the trust had came, although didn’t say why.

If you don’t want people using your power, that’s completely understandable, but allowing it and then turning them off is a complete waste of time, I wish we would have gone...

Right on the towpath, so perfect for a stop-off along a very pleasant part of the Kennet and Avon canal, which only got better as we headed west (but was very rough several miles eastward). COVID-compliant and very busy at times with queues out onto the path. Good selection of light snacks and meals. We enjoyed a full English; friends enjoyed cream tea. Hydration pack top-up available from an outdoor tap. Outdoor seating on both sides of the café and up behind surrounded by lovely blooming borders. Quite a few shades available - we'd have cooked alive without them by late morning. Toilets a little down the road, requiring a key from the café. Massive queue for the men's (!?!) while the ladies' had no paper or soap. Thankfully, I had some stuffed in a pocket somewhere. Bicycle...

Great friendly and helpful staff. It is a really great cafe with a good choice of other refreshments including cake, biscuits and Marshfield Farm ice cream. Non dairy is also catered for I had a choice of non-dairy (barrista) milks to have in my latte I chose coconut but also had soya or oat milk. They were really passionate about trying to help me have the nicest tasting coffee and I was definitely not disappointed! There is a one way system to enable an easy and Covid secure environment. Plus there is still some seating available outside in their gardens on each side of the premises with a lovely view of the canal and the lock. Will definitely be coming back again and...

Having walked from Trowbridge along the Avon and Kennet Canal on one of the hottest days of the year, we were in need of refreshments. My wife had a cappuccino - extra hot, madness - and I went for a chocolate shake but they were out so I had a raspberry a white chocolate shake, which came topped with whipped cream and marshmallows. The café has a one-way in and out system: you order inside and take your tray out to your table.

£3.50 for what they call a real thick shake when actually it's just milk and nestle with some marshmallows thrown in. There's lots of other places to waste your hard earned money instead of waiting ten minutes to be served and disappointed. Another money grabbing greedy establishment

Enjoyed sitting outside this great little cafe on sunny afternoon watching the canal trust volunteers operating the lock gates for each narrow boat that was passing through!! Nice coffee and wide choice of quality cakes! They also serve variety of hot n cold food!
