Clean and well presented. A small selection of sandwiches cheese, cheese and piccalilli, ham, ham and piccalilli, egg mayo, etc with a small amount of chopped salad and coleslaw garnish on the side. Large soft baps. Tomato and red pepper soup with a large cheese scone were very nice. Various cakes and tray bakes are on display to choose from. The toilets are very clean. Friendly staff welcomed our small dog and offered her a biscuit.

Nice little quaint tea room set in an idyllic little village square. Good to sit and watch the world go by. The only thing I would say is that the staff appeared to be a little stressed, when we arrived it wasn't busy at all but listening to them, they had clearly had a busy day. My coffee wasn't presented the best either. I haven't let this affect my review as we all have off days. If you're in Cartmel, give it a try πŸ‘πŸ»

We stopped for coffee and cake (of which there was a great selection!). Both were of good quality - they do a decent flavoursome flat white and the kids enjoyed their hot chocolates. It wasn't too busy when we visited and service was quick. It's in a nice position to watch the world go by in the village square outside. They had plant-based milks available as well as some vegan and gluten-free cake options.

Repeating the findings of others, the shop owners appear not to like family visits. I ordered 3 drinks there, then sat down, with my 8 month old son eating a pear in his pram, and 9 year old son sneaking a bite on a sausage roll from a shop nearby. The rest of the shops appear to 'get it' that supporting the other local businesses is the way forward (Cartmel has a recommended bakery), but this business appears to be clueless. The shop owner/assistant delivered the drinks, then said at the same time 'we don't allow food from outside being eaten here'. We left the drinks, paid, then left the shop. If you are unhappy with a customer, ask them to leave. Don't deliver drinks, then ask them to leave (therefore requesting payment, but telling the customer to get lost at the same time). Cartmel is certainly worth a visit however, the other shop owners seem to at least understand that they are in the...

Placed looked nice . Food was good.this is my observation of the behavior of one waiter and another waitress. I ordered a hot chocolate drink with marshmallows along with other things. The waiter put his fingers in the bottle with marshmallows and simply took it out with his bare hands. No prior cleaning his hands. He had been touching all the stuff/ counters / ringing the bill etc. The waitress had fake nails and she had been scratching her forearms constantly in between carrying food and serving. No matter how good the food is it begs the question! Is it worth sacrificing cleanliness. Also dogs are allowed inside the cafe.one dog owner let the dog loose and it ran in to the kitchen and got petted by the person who is preparing sandwich/food. There is a risk of cross contamination coz of that practice .great place but some cringy practice, so will not return again...

We have tried all the cafe's and eataries in Carmel and I must say that The Carmel Coffee cafe is the best. The cakes are all home made and are excellent πŸ˜™πŸ˜‰ but there sultan scones are the Best I have ever Ever tasted πŸ˜„πŸ˜ home made by one of the ladies in the shop every morning. They are light crunchy top good size and would highly recommend them mmm they are not full of baking powder or cream of tartar to make the rise and so don't leave an after taste once eaten they were so nice I brought some home to. The tea was nice to after a good stir could have done with extra tea bag but never mind the scones made up for it. Nice and clean. Dog friendly. Lovely pleasent staff. You...
