Hadnt been before but was meeting a friend for dinner who recommended. Lovely relaxed vibe with staff in shorts. Wide range of drinks and cocktails on offer and none of the usual mainstream draught which was great to see. Great little tapas type menu where you order a few dishes and they come out when ready. Tiny little cutlery adorned posh napkins on a very neat table with a clever candle holder that turns into place mats. Staff were brilliant at accommodating my gluten free partner and made her salt and pepper halloumi. Can't comment on the value as I didn't pay the bill but given the quality of the food and service I'd say it was deffo value for money. The only niggle was that given all the efforts with how good the table and food looked when I asked for some vinegar, it came in a couple of cheap bookers sachets. Wouldn't let that put us off going again though.

Oscars did not disappoint. Beautiful setting in quintessential Cartmel. We booked for our son’s 17th birthday. David the owner greeted us with a smile and hoped the birthday napkins were correct (mentioned online when we booked 😊). Sat upstairs, lovely atmosphere and quirky decor. Made to feel very welcome. Very good Unsworth ale👍 Small plate menu, delicious, had two plates each so six in total. Followed by homemade Bischoff cheesecake and the best chocolate brownie in the world (both with cream and ice cream). Shout out to Kelly the chef, David her husband who made us very welcome and their daughter Lydia who served us. Our 17 year old loved it!! We’ll be back!!

Absoultley incredible! Best Tapas I have ever had! Such generous servings, so fresh and very reasonably priced. The setting is beautiful and the service was 10/10. The wine menu is epic and goes perfectly with all of the dishes, run don’t walk, this place is amazing! Thanks for the lovely food and the memories made - Jennifer

We have been visiting Cartmel for the last 5 years and have always wanted to stop in at Oscar’s. We changed that this evening. My husband was very pleased they had Superbock on tap (a favourite) and I enjoyed a Hugo Spritz. The food was delicious. We sampled the quesadilla, hash browns with truffle and salt & pepper chicken - all were delicious! The service was great, very friendly. We will definitely...
