We have just returned from a wonderful three night stay at Coffee and Stays in Cartmel. Rachel and her team looked after us really well. The rooms are both immaculate and beautifully appointed. There was a great view from our window seat across the square. In our rooms we had fresh coffee (and pods) from the nespresso machine with fresh milk put in the fridge every day. There was a good sized tv and free internet provided. We were also provided with locally sourced and hand made toiletries. The breakfast was cooked freshly every day. There was lots of choice and it was presented beautifully. It also tasted really good too. If youâd like a relaxing break in a really special place then this is for you. Weâll certainly be returning and I think that sums up our very high opinion...
Read moreWe had a great overnight stay. Rachel and the team are an absolute delight, and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome...almost like you're staying with family.
Rachel has completed a really great renovation of the building and rooms. Our room (Room 5) was tastefully decorated and had a great view over the square. The bathroom in particular was lovely. Nice touches like the Nespresso machine in room, fresh milk in fridge, and a selection of beers/wines in room available to purchase (really reasonably priced). Breakfast was superb, fresh produce, with great service to match.
Great location, right in the heart of the village with everything on the doorstep. Parking nearby at the racecourse, only ÂŁ10 overnight.
Overall, a fantastic stay - we will...
Read moreI entered the coffee shop today as a heavily pregnant lady while it was pouring it down with rain outside - I politely asked the lady behind the counter if I could use the toilet. I was turned away and asked to use the racecourse facilities instead.
A waddle to the racecourse in the pouring rain in my condition wasnât fun however as many will know, pregnancy isnât very forgiving on the bladder and I had to find a loo!
I found this very unkind given it was off-peak season and very quiet in the village. This was a huge shame as I was going to use the toilet, wait for my husband to park up and meet me inside to purchase a coffee and some food from here. We chose to go elsewhere.
Please remember kindness...
