Moving to the area in February last year, we wasn't sure where we could take our young daughter, we took a chance with Cassiel.
We was welcomed into the establishment with a warm greeting and our daughter got her own greeting, which was great as many establishments tend to blank her and only greet my self and my wife.
We was asked if we would be dinning with them which we said yes and was politely shown to a table which had room for our pram, the waitress then asked if we would like a high chair , again we said yes and within seconds we had a high chair.
The waitress then said she would let us settle an then be back over to take our orders.
After browsing the menu we was ready to order , and as soon as we closed the menus the waitress came over and took our order.
A short moment later we had our drinks and cutlery even some child cutlery for our daughter, around 20 minutes later our food was brought out , each plate was filled, amazing value for money.
We both had a chicken burger and beef burger , and our daughter had a child's chicken nuggets and salad (chips was a option but we requested salad and the chef was more then happy to swap them out)
Both burgers was extremely big and very tasty , there wasn't a bite we didn't enjoy. Especially with the home cooked chunky chips.
After our meals we got talking to the manager and one of the owners, and was informed that the owners are local to Cottingham and have grown up in the village as there family have been in the industry for decades.
It was nice to hear that successful people have stuck to there roots an remain humble , and the fact they was happy to speak an greet a random person like they new for years.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business and am pleased my family and i took that chance to dine here.
We go back regularly and the welcome is...
Read moreOh this was a horrible experience!!! Popped in for lunch. Only 2 other customers there. Found a table. The female behind the bar studiously ignored us. After a few minutes I walked over, said hello, ordered drinks and asked could we have a couple of menus please. She just pointed to a table in the far corner and said dismissively “ They’re over there!” I dutifully walked to the table and took two. We chose our food and sat for a while but no reaction from the member of staff so again I went to the bar thinking that was the routine here, only to be told it was waitress service after all and she would come over and take our order “in a minute “ Our order was taken 10 minutes later! My friend ordered a wrap and said it was ok. I ordered soup and it was horrible! It seemed to contain gritty raw grated onion! The worst soup I have. ever had. Had we picked a really bad day? I admit I didn’t complain about the hideous soup as Couldn’t face the prospect of a bored yawn from that staff member!!! We...
Read moreMade a booking for 2. Turned up this evening and was told there was no booking. Luckily I had my e mail confirmation as I was made to feel as if I was in the wrong. There was no apology and we were just expected to leave. As the table had been booked for my friends birthday I was not happy and eventually after 20 minutes and asking to speak to the manager a suitable table was offered. However, by this time we were made to feel as if we were an inconvenience, with other customers getting involved when it was none of their business and decided to leave. I appreciate that mistakes happen and if there had been an apology and a small gesture to show that they cared, then we would have left. However, the attitude of "we're fully booked so there's nothing we can do" just got our backs up, made us want to stand our ground and make things difficult. We ended up at Pascos who were very accommodating and friendly managing to find us a table...
