I visited here today 27th of August. Very disappointed in the customer service. We ordered a pot of tea for 3 this was brought while we waited for our food to arrive. Little did we know that as we waited for it to brew we had been given green tea. I asked the girl to take it away as it was awful. We were not offered an alternative. Our food arrived. All 4 of us had ordered sandwiches and extra fries and onion rings. Yummy we thought!!! The onion rings were greasy and undercooked. The manager came in and said we had been given green tea. He had run out of tea bags. No apology or offer to remove the cost. Then came the bill £36.10. For basically a sandwich each as the drink was sent back. Would not recommend This place to anyone. As being a regular it would be easy for me to be biased. I must say though the service and willing to go the extra mile was 10 out of 10. I was undecided in which public house to eat - either The Duke or its sister pub The King Billy. Firstly I arrived at The Duke and settled with some friends for a drink. I really wanted to go to try one of King Billy's Pizzas from its new menu. But was settled. I cheekily asked if I could have one delivered and to my surprize was told no problem - Which one would you like? Around 20 minutes a later arrived what I can describe as the best Pepperoni pizza I have eaten. Well done to both teams for delivering such great...

Everyone else's food was great I ordered the roast of the day gammon, I was rather hungry & ready for my meal, food arrived & gammon is meant to be on the pinkish side mine was more grayish, I asked waitress if it was OK, she took my plate back to chef who told the waitress it was not pink as its kept warm in water & that's why it was not pink, all the chef did was take the grey meat off... hence I didn't eat the meat as didn't want an iffy tummy the next day, I've had plenty of meals there before & not a problem, but if I was to eat there again & there was only the gammon on the roast menu I would choose something different, just a shame as the...

Went here for Sunday lunch as my daugjter had been 2 weeks before i was recommended the Homemade Steak pie but opted for double cooked chips for a change rather than mash but must say was massive chuck's of steak & the taste of the gravy in it was to die for. There was 4 of us & everyone enjoyed there meals & Granddaughter enjoyed her kids sausage & chips if i had to complain it was only because there was not enough gravy on any meals so we had to keep borrowing the Granddaughter's it wont put me off & will be back again for a good Homemade meal but will remember to order extra gravy.

The Duke of Cumberland is a nice community pub in the heart of Cottingham. It has a well deserved reputation for its excellent food. The beer is also first rate with a nice selection of hand pulled cask conditioned real ale. Quite a few pubs that are food orientated seem to fall down when it comes to the beer, but not here the beer is excellent. It's a big pub with several rooms excellent for dining and there is a nice secluded beer garden at the back by the Old stable block. A great pub highly recommended.

Staff are absolutely shocking.. ordered a vodka coke. As the staff member turned his back he said Pepsi, without giving us a choice or asking. He refused to fill my tiny glass up with more Pepsi because of the ‘pubs costs’ and he would charge us for more Pepsi. Overall the interactions we encountered was rude.
