For my 65th. Birthday I was given a voucher for afternoon tea for two plus dog. What a treat that turned out to be!.It was fantastic, my wife Heather and I with little 'Fudgie in tow ,' arrived for our booked afternoon tea. We were greeted very warmly, by a gorgeous Male Lurcherร called 'Spike' The owner Jayne was fantastic, and greeted the three of us so warmly we knew that this was not going to be our first and last visit to the "Blue Whippet!" We were shown to our reserved table, amidst this charmingly "quirky" but above all exquisitely clean and spotless establishment, considering the potential of having had millions ( if the Photo's on the wall of fame , is anything to go by)of 'poochy' visitors and their owners. There was no evidence of 'poochy' odours. The level of hygiene is amazing. We were brought the menu of sandwiches on offer, written upon a bone shaped blackboard. Our order was taken, and our choice of beverage was delivered followed by a charming afternoon tea stand, with an assortment of doggy treats for little 'Fudge' complete with a bowl of water and a comfortable little mat for Fudgie to recline whilst she surveyed what was on offer off the stand which bore her name. Our stand was brought to the table with the Sandwiches chosen plus scones and cakes. Our coffee pot was replenished with delicious ground coffee, enough for two more cups of coffee in exquisite China cups with floral painted design adding to their highly pleasant appearance. The food was gorgeous sandwiches were presented with very generous deep fillings in bread as requested which oozed freshness in appearance, touch and ultimately taste. We were advised by a kind young lady regarding 'Fudges' anxiety on being taken for rides. The same lady, we learned is responsible for the generous stock of collars and leashes made by herself, with an amazing choice of design and sizes. Also on offer were knitted items to keep our 4 legged friends, plus bandanas in three sizes and designs all at very reasonable prices considering the excellent quality of work in evidence, and wouldn't look out of place in Pets at home etc.. We then met a lady with her two dogs, one definitely a Chihuahua possibly both. Fudge wasn't too impressed with these two bundles of joy, and made it vocally obvious, obviously apologies were offered to the lady. We then met " Willow" a gorgeous 'wooly' bundle of sheer joy. Fudge was given her ' Doggie bag'( she doesn't seem to like treats outside her home environment). We also received a 'Hooman' box . Fudgie and I went for a look at the copious amounts of Doggy themed gifts, and the Wall of fame photo wall. All sorts of Doggy themed events coming up were advertised. "The Blue Whippet!" just has to be visited, I defy anyone not to be smitten by its Charming quirkiness, on walking through the door. If I was asked to score, here is my scores.
Hygiene 100%. Warm welcoming. 100% Value for Money 100% Quality of food and service 100% Overall review. Fantastic, Wishing Jayne every continuing success for this fantastic business, we will definitely be back. Hope you...
ย ย ย Read moreTook my parents and my dog Trudy to the Blue Whippet Cafe and it was a lovely treat. The food was lovely. Trudy was given her own High tea which was so lovely and cute but unfortunately we had to take the treats home because she is diabetic and can only be fed at certain times but the staff was understanding and they packed up the treats for me to take home. The cafe also has lovely gifts to buy too. I will definitely be going back again with...
