Ok, so I should have visited and reviewed this about 4 years ago but life got in the way, but I finally ate there!

First thing first, the interior. A little bit drab but the interior does not make the meal. It is an attempt to try to pull off an old wild west saloon and it misses it by a mile, but like I said if the food is great I will eat out of a dumpster!

When we visited it was a Christmas month Saturday afternoon and it was very quiet. There were only 5 other people in the restaurant beside us (it has I would guess a 80 seat capacity) so it really felt empty. You can tell thought that place get packed, fun and rowdy after dark (shame I came in the afternoon).

Ordered and I would have expected the food to arrive quicker given the lack of patrons. After a long wait, it arrived and I was not disappointed. Wow oh wow. My t-bone was cooked perfectly.

Now I use a cooking scale based on how busy a restaurant is. So to explain, say I wanted medium rare but the restaurant is packed, I will ask for rare. Why you ask. Well in a busy restaurant they cook lots of food, the servers are usually run off their feet and sometimes the food will spend a few minutes resting under the hot lights on the pass. This will cause the meat to unusually go down one level and trust me no one really enjoys sending food back to the kitchen!

Anyway I digress, i ordered medium rare and crossed my fingers and tadaaa it arrived medium rare. It was perfectly seasoned and the sides were really hot, I mean burning hot (so you know there freshly cooked).

Given the size of the meal and the quality of the meat, it was very very reasonably priced. I think the t-bone (the largest dish on the menu) was £29. Very well priced.

So to sum up. Great restaurant, but drab inside but the food is worth the visit. If you are in Harrogate and you love steak, this place is definitely worth a visit!

PS If I had known about the 72oz challenge meal I would have taken part, however you need to give 24 hours notice and leave a cash deposit. Who knows i might have finished it? Looks like I will be visiting again very soon then...

One of Harrogate's best steakhouses. Went for Mother's Day 2019. Not bad, but could have been better. It wasn't overly busy, but I appreciate we were a party of 8. Forgot my drink then tried to bill me for it twice but I did get more than one apology. Starters arrived within a fairly quick timeframe and were bigger than expected, but I'm glad, for £5.50! Main course was very quick to arrive after, cannot fault it, other than veg is missing from the menu. However, it all tasted incredible, cooked perfectly to specification. Again, a little on the ££££ side, but you get large portions and it really does taste amazing. Of course when everything else has been a large size, the desserts were no exception. Maybe a little less ice cream options and more of a pudding on offer would go down well. Complimentary mints and a little doggy bag of chocolate did not go amiss either! I've been to Cattlemen's before, and I'll definitely be back again yet. It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and is a great place for the...

Wow!!

It was my birthday and we had decided on a shopping trip to Harrogate and a meal out.

We didn't know of any places to go and we had spotted Cattleman's grill on the way up to the car park so we had a look at the menu outside decided it was worth a visit.

We were so glad we did! We were greeted by a friendly guy who said to sit where we wanted and got us some drinks (bonus points for having Pepsi max) the only bad point was choosing something from the menu as it all sounded great!

They have a challenge (76oz steak plus chips, salad and onion rings eat it in an hour) and they have a wall of shame /fame with all the contestants... The leader is a young lady at 13 mins!!! This got us into a conversation with the friendly guy and also another diner (socially distanced obviously)

The meal was gorgeous... It was cooked perfect and the choices were fab... We even decided we would make the trip back one Saturday night to have the steak it would be worth it!!

Definitely coming back...

We had an amazing meal here! While staying at Harrogate for the night, we had a look online for some nice places to eat at and we decided to give this a try, as it always popped up on the top list for places to eat. We called in during the day to book a table and got one for 8:30pm. When we got there, we were seated at our table and had our drinks brought to us and meal ordered once we went in. Within 15 minutes, our food had arrived and it was piping hot. I got my steak medium rare and it was cooked amazingly and the wife had Chilli Con Carne and she loved it! We finished the food and got another drink and desserts and the apple pie and chocolate sundae were lovely. We even took advantage of the eat in offer which is currently on and ended up paying more for the drinks than the food (As they were alcohol), so you can't grumble at that. It's definitely a place we'll come back to again in the future should we be in Harrogate.
