Went in for breakfast yesterday with my partner, she had scrambled egg on toast and I only wanted something light so ordered a portion of chips and some slices of bread to make a chip buttie, my partner went up and ordered scrambled egg on toast, 2 sausages, chips, a diet coke and 4 slices of bread, when she sat down she looked shocked and ask me to check the prices on the menu as it had come to nearly £25, it wasn't all on the menu so I went up to the counter and asked for a receipt as we were shocked at the cost, when I looked at the receipt we had been charged £6 for 2 sausages and £6 for 4 slices of bread, when I questioned this they said they didn't have a button on the till for what I wanted so they had to do it that way, what an absolute joke and especially in these times of financial difficulties, just so we're clear that's £3 for each individual sausage(fairly small as well) and £1.50 for each individual slice of bread, I know. SHOCKING right?, just remember to ask yourself when you're doing your bit to help out local businesses in these hard times are they doing their bit to help YOU!, in this instance they seem to be out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Charles Cafe was a delight to visit this morning. We had the "full breakfast" and a "Bacon, Sausage & Egg Bap" which were both delicious. The staff was very friendly and accommodated me by substituting extra bacon for the Sausage. The Orange juice was freshly squeezed after I ordered it. Our Mocha and Latte were very nice as well. As we have been on holiday for nearly 2 weeks now and we're not terribly hungry we did not eat all of our food. After our plates were removed and taken back to the kitchen the manager came out to check if everything was alright with our meal, since we hadn't eaten all of our food. I was very impressed with this level of customer care and desire to do a good job. We will certainly be returning to the Charles Cafe next time we are in Salisbury and recommending them to everyone we know. Do pay them a visit you'll be happy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCanāt fault the service, staff were friendly and attentive and the English breakfast was good. The chicken gourmet was slightly disappointing. Burger itself could be prepared with more love, maybe adding lettuce or at least some sort of sauce, as it was literally chicken in a bun. Also disappointed in some pricing overall for 2X breakfast, chicken burger, 2x sparkling water, and 2x latte came up to 49Ā£ not so family friendly . Additionally, a can of coke is Ā£2.85 which is quite extortionate, in fact insulting. If it wasn't for the overpriced food, I'd be going back, but unfortunately, I can get just as good if not better elsewhere...
