Coffee#1 Macclesfield — Restaurant in England

This was my second visit to the café, and unfortunately, it will be my last.

While I was quietly enjoying my coffee, I witnessed something that left me both disgusted and concerned. A woman, who ordering or looking what to order, suddenly sneezed directly over the uncovered items on display. To her credit, she immediately apologised, clearly embarrassed. However, what was more alarming was the staff's reaction: rather than discarding the potentially contaminated food, the employee behind the counter casually reassured her that it was "fine" and continued serving the same items to unsuspecting customers.

This lack of basic hygiene protocol is unacceptable, especially in a food establishment. The staff’s dismissive attitude toward such a serious lapse not only reflects poorly on their training but also raises serious questions about the café's overall approach to cleanliness and customer safety.

As someone who values both good coffee and good business practices, I was genuinely disappointed. I won’t be returning, and I’d caution others who prioritize hygiene to think twice...

I have been in cafe one a few times the experience is not good, staff stand behind counter chatting between themselves and completely unaware you are stood there they make you feel that you are interrupting them. I was in there today sat14th sept 3 staff members was behind the counter chatting and laughing amongst them selves, I was the only person waiting to be served a lady came to the counter to be served one of the female staff new her they had a chat asking each other how they was and served her before me. As I said earlier this kind of service seems to be the normal, I will not be using cafe one again. I think the problem being it is lacking adult...

This review is about Macclesfield store. In the past we’ve been very keen supporters of this cafe but today was very different. We complained about the Apple Cinnamon special which frankly tasted “odd” We brought it up with the manager (?) and surprisingly we were told “it’s one of our most popular drinks, It’s a matter of personal taste!” No offer of replacement drink or refund. Not even a ‘sorry you didn’t enjoy!’ Very poor customer service. We were made to feel very uncomfortable throughout our visit after the disparaging looks directed at us from the counter.
