Simply the best coffee shop in Thornbury, end of. The Coffee#1 chain has the ability to generate a lovely friendly atmosphere with its combination of mismatched furniture and friendly style, this place is no exception. I often come in here with my son or partner, the drinks are comparable in price to other mainstream coffee chains. The food is delicious, especially after a workout in the gym when you want to replenish lost calories! As someone that can’t eat dairy myself, they have a delicious vegan wrap but also the sausage and bacon rolls are very nice. A good selection of sweet treats for people with a variety of dietary needs including vegans and vegetarians are also available. I've been here three times now with my baby and the staff are not friendly at all, they kind of stare blankly at me and my baby and I haven't seen anyone smile yet! Maybe we go in on the wrong day, maybe some of the staff are new, but I don't think I'll go back as kindness and friendliness go a long way when you're on your own with a small person all day. Also I didn't find the cake that good, it looked nice but didn't have much taste. When I tried to change my baby's nappy before leaving we had to navigate full bin bags in the accessible toilet which were just left in the middle of the floor so I wasn't able to use the baby changing table and instead had to change the nappy while baby was in the pram. The decor and atmosphere is my favourite thing about coffee#1 along with the decent vegan options they have available which puts it above places like Costa and Starbucks for me. The drinks are fairly good in terms of size and quality. Prices are pretty standard for a coffee shop. The food is always good here, sweet and savoury. Service is quite friendly but can be a bit slow.
