Cooplands — Restaurant in England

Visited the Coopands in Acomb four times recently, first occasion was served by someone who couldn't have been more helpful, asking me if I wanted to take up an offer making my purchases cheaper. Unfortunately, since then have been served by what can only be described as being rude staff, whereby it seems like you are putting them out by going in and expecting to be served. Today was no exception, took a while for the staff member to turn to face the counter and then as they were supposed to be serving me, was too busy looking out of the window at what was going on outside to look at where she was handing the change!! My husband claimed he didn't like English cafes, but then we came to cooplands. We came back a few times it was so good. From yum yums to sausage rolls to a breakfast sandwich to chicken bakes to the fruit flan, we tried so many different things during our visits. Everything was so tasty and my husband now loves English pastries and sandwiches. The ladies at the counter were also lovely and very helpful. If we're ever back in York, we'll...

I had a lovely experience in here today, i am compelled to tell the world. Three lovely cheerful men made sandwiches for us whilst they chatted to every customer with respect and a real great happy vibe. The tunes were on and these three guys were obviously enjoying their work. Put me in a right good mood. Just stopping work to eat my lovely sandwich and felt like they needed to know that they're doing a grand job....
