Popped in to buy some pasties only to find they do not accept cash. The more shops that stop accepting legal tender the more likely we'll end up losing cash. Vulnerable people, people who find it hard to keep a track of their finances etc continue to use cash, why a business would want to refuse a customers money is beyond me.
I understand banks are making it hard for business to use cash (I run my own business) but giving in to their wishes over your customers is the wrong way round, don't let banks dictate how your customers pay.
I hope you rethink and start accepting cash again, your sign says something about it taking time to handle cash from customers, but I paid cash round the corner at one of your competitors and it took no time.
Edit in response to owner: The post office accepts cash on behalf of most major banks making it easy for small businesses to accept cash and deposit even if the bank they use is not local. There are several post offices within a few minutes walk of your location, I...
Read moreRather disappointing Cornish pasties!
We ordered 3 regular pasties and one large traditional steak pasty only to find that they were rather dry, filled almost exclusively with potato (minimal beef), and were lacking much flavour.
The beef "steak" was dry and bland, and borderline unenjoyable to eat, and I found that my large pasty had far too much crust (which was tough and dry) and practically no veg (other than heaps of stodgy potato). I've had some great pasties here in Cornwall over the years but this was not one, sadly.
A positive is that the price was somewhat competitive compared to other cafes/bakeries nearby although that's not saying much since the prices were at least 20p more than Truro's most expensive pasties.
A proper positive, the lady behind the counter delivered great customer service being pleasant and helpful!
In conclusion, sort your pasty ratios! No-one wants a large pasty with little else than potato as a...
