Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

I visited Costa recently and found the food and drinks to be very good – no complaints there. However, the overall experience could have been better. The staff didn’t seem particularly enthusiastic and were quite relaxed in their approach. I ordered a toasty, which wasn’t put in the oven until after my drink was made, even though no other customers were being served at the time. Also, the table I sat at hadn’t been cleaned. A bit more attention to service and cleanliness would have made the visit much better. Would I return. Maybe...

It’s normally ok here but the staff member with the scruffy beard and tattooed neck and ear gauges is very immature and quite rude, he lowers the standards of this place. Practically mocked our vegan food selection and held it in a rude manner, the other barista who made our drinks accidentally made an oat flat white rather than with milk and I pointed that out, again he was rude about that oh! so you don’t want this now! Then tipped it away with an attitude. I never asked for an oat flat white. Definitely lowering...

Most times I come it’s not very busy (Suits me) but service has been good, in terms of I’ve got what I wanted, it would be nice to have an atmosphere though. I do have to agree with some comments on here in that “some” staff appear immature but what can you expect when a big company invests a lot of money only to employ young (cheap) staff. Customer service is what it’s about. The squires gate costs have got it right, the staff are much more professional, and that always seems busy. ...
