When we arrived came in and found a table with no issue the pub was clean and had a nice vibe. The pub wasn't very busy but there was a few customers in eating and a few groups.
We scoured the menu and found our feast. We went up to the bar where we were greeted by Julie who was very welcoming and took our order.
We ordered a large mixed grill, a double hunters chicken and a house sharing platter. We had a large Pepsi and a jack Daniels apple and lemonade too.
As a blue light card holder we used this discount which made the Already cheap meal even cheaper!! This is fantastic.
We sat at our table and chatted quietly awaiting our food.
30 minutes passed and our food hadn't arrived not a huge issue for us although we were restricted by time slightly.
After 40 minutes Julie came over and apologised she said I'm really sorry you have waited so long the kitchen staff member was on his own we said its understandable and not a problem she then said ill get you a drink each for having to wait which was a really nice gesture and very kind of her.
Our food then arrived a few minutes later.
The double hunters chicken was fantastic cooked well a good amount of chips and loads of peas.
Then the large mixed grill again fantastic although the steak was cooked perfectly the steak was tough in places which can be luck of the draw.
We feel the house sharing platter could be bigger but the food was good wings excellent, dirty chips good, chicken bites weren't very big more popcorn chicken size but tasted okay, garlic bread was nice good flavour and nice char grill lines, the onion rings were okay but are not of the best quality they are the onion/potato mix onion rings. Good variety and of sauce for dipping.
Although we had to wait evey bit of the food that came out was enjoyable and piping hot. Even then we both left satisfied and with a smile on our face because we enjoyed the food but ultimately the customer service we received from Julie was absolutely outstanding she is a real credit to the company and we will definitely...
Read moreWe have been a couple of times and found that both visits were good. I am in a wheelchair and so access is an important issue. On arriving at the Mere Park we found that the front entrance was the best with level access and wide doors. The locals were great in helping us in and making us feel welcome and totally comfortable. On both visits staff and customers helped move chairs so that we could sit comfortably at a table. When ordering food and drinks I went to the bar. The counter was a little high, New experience for me, but the staff made a point of ensuring I was served in turn and offered to carry our drinks to the table. The food was freshly made with an appropriate wait and served with a smile. The food was good and at a reasonable price. Same with the drinks. I used the disabled toilet (key behind the bar). It was clean, well equipped and a good size with room to manoeuvre a wheelchair. They accept card payments. Overall an enjoyable visit and will be...
Read moreWe called in on Sunday 20th October. Lady who took our order explained the chef is on his own today so wait will be 40 mins. We were ok with this. 25 minutes later our starters came out with my sons meal ( just what we asked for and all food was cooked to perfection and hot👌) then shortly after we finished the starters our mains came out. We had mixed grills and everything was cooked perfect even the steak was amazing. All I can say is everything from front of house to the unsung hero’s in the kitchen big Thankyou. Whatever this place does , don’t let your chef go. You’ve set the standard so next time we visit we will be looking forward...
