Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

I go for my regular large coffee every Monday and Tuesday morning at Park Farm in Allestree. Nedj, the manager and the young lady with the dark hair (sorry I can’t remember her name) truly make me welcome. They always have a smile on their faces, polite, helpful and will always chat with you whilst they work, and that makes you feel special. Nedj does an absolutely amazing job managing the store (he goes above and beyond. Quite frankly, I’ve never seen anyone so dedicated).

A point to add to this review is that some customers pointed out the staff were on the phone. Yes they are on the phone, but they are working - taking Uber orders/deliveries etc. I often think that people truly don’t think things through before placing comments. Sometimes there can be one maybe two staff members working at any one time, but they can’t dictate the volume of traffic or telephone orders they receive in any one day. They truly work hard! Absolutely shocking Costa. This has a serious impact on the brand for other Costa Coffee shops.

Firstly, the opening hours. I don’t know about most but I would expect a coffee shop to be open from 6/6:30am.

Secondly, I can absolutely validate the comments made about the customer service. Very rude, abrupt and arrogant. The Barista serving me didn’t even know what pouring cream was and I had to show her that it was in the fridge.

Finally, I can’t say I am surprised with any of the above points as this seems to be the most understaffed Costa I have ever seen with usually just one member of Staff serving on the till and making the coffees. This leads to inordinate waiting times.

This branch is a joke and a usually good experience in Costa stores is shattered in my local area.
