The Royal Raj — Restaurant in England

After encouraging a family group of 10 to go for a meal at the Raj last Sunday (not very Busy), was very disappointed by their total lack of Customer service.

Firstly on asking for the group to be split into 3 group billing (which the person taking the order said he would sort), the bill arrived as one itemised bill for the full group of ten, so not supplied and the table then had to work out which each the the 3 groups owed !

Secondly because initially we wanted group billing for each group & there was ten of us, we was asked to go order, pay and bring back to the table themselves all drinks from the bar !

Thirdly on asking to take some of the residual food away with us, cartons were dropped on the table with a demand we did it ourselves !

All the above have been supplied effectively in the past, so don't know why the change to a none Customer Service focus has been adopted and lastly on complaining on leaving, my wife was told my return Custom there would no longer be welcome !

Raj curry house Allestree, whilst always had a positive experience, tonight very poor & confrontation with who said he was the manager & if he was ? Absolutely shocking !!!! He Needs Customer focus which for some reason seemed to have no Customer...

It's a toss up whether the rating should be a 3 or 2. The service was ok but it wasn't without fault. Some of the food was only lukewarm. The toilets look like they had had a really quick makeover but shoddy workmanship let's down the finished article. The worst thing is the cost. No curry under£11. Some of the specials were £17. The rice and naan bread were also way too expensive for a surbabian curry house. It was also very quiet. We won't be going back until they reduce...

I’m a bit baffled by the reviews on here. Just ordered a takeaway and it was AWFUL. Dry, pink, flavourless chicken when I ordered a chicken tikka clay oven. It was inedible.
