Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

On entering the building, most of the empty tables had trays and dirty crockery on them. Whilst ordering, I requested if there was someone who could clean the table that my husband was sat down at. The young girl came over, took the tray and carried on with her work. No wipe down of the table, which was dirty, whatsoever. We then saw another young girl clear away a tray from a table, but again, failed to wipe down. Not once did anyone wipe any further tables. At the time the store was not busy and 3 members of staff were behind the counter chatting. The chairs look grubby in fact so did the floor. Just felt dirty with food, wrappers under the tables. Placed and paid for an order via the Costa app. When I went to collect I was told that one of the drinks could not be made - lack of ingredients - so I suggested they provide a suitable alternative. I was told no as it might be more expensive than the one I’d ordered. I asked for a refund and was told I would have to contact Costa customer services as the order was placed via the app. Shoddy on many levels. And several weeks on I’m still waiting for the promised refund from Costa customer services. Costa is Costa, I don't have to say anything about the excellent coffee etc, the downside of my visit was that the toilet was closed due to a loose panel, it was explained to me it was a health and safety issue, but how long has it been like that, is it a quick screwdriver job .constant engaged lock sign showing, why don't they put a notice to say the toilet is out of order, please use the disable toilet, small things like this can...
