Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

I regularly come to this costa and it’s staff are always super friendly and willing to help, I like that the staff can have a joke with customers without having to whipped in line or worry, it makes it more of a pleasant place to be with a laugh and not some strict army regiment rubbish. Regular customers are always friendly too, it’s a friendly place, the regulars make the place along with the staff. As for comments about it being dated, all I can say is, if the seats work and are comfy it’s doing it’s job, they can’t tailor it to everyone’s fancy, if you can sit comfortably so what, I’m sure your bum don’t mind. They really do make an effort to remember and familiarise themselves with the regulars too with a lot remembering names and faces and orders too. As for cleanliness I think it’s very clean, the only time the tables seem to get messy is if there is a mad rush, the staff are certainly not lazy on cleaning! Finally the drinks, I like to change up my orders every so often to not get bored but I’ve never had a single drink I don’t like, even the new barista is making great quality drinks and he is only training still. This is my first one star review ever I came into Costa coffee to get some tap water with ice and they rejected me saying they don’t give out cups :( I have medical problems and needed water and the staff were so unhelpful and rude apparently it’s there new policy to not give out cups as there low on stock! Order taker could do with a lesson in polite etiquette. Barking orders to stand on the spacing dots, was a little OTT. People do not always look at the floor immediately below them so we'll may intrude into the 2m distance. It happens no need to be so pedantic.
