Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

I had a catch up with friends the young lady that serve didn't seem to know about the new Christmas menu I ask her a simple question what the difference between the gingerbread latte frosty one to normal one her answer was the price I sad no I mean what different about the 2 drinks then the girl making drink had to tell me which is a bit worrying that she don't know what in it then our food was cold so instead getting a fresh one for me and my friend she rewarm the ones we had then we didn't know who's food was who I work in catering not very hygienic considering we don't know who's was who then we decided to get some cake we wanted carrot cake but when I saw the receipt it was banana and pecan also worrying coz I actually don't like banana and waitress said it was carrot cake but they use a different button on till but I'm not to know that am I and I could have been allergic to nuts which could be very serious you need to make sure all staff are trained properly on new products and what they are seving customers I couldn't even use my rewards coz she was in hurry to serve us very...

This Costa is situated within the shopping area off Rope Walk, Bedford. It has a very good range of sweet & savoury foods as well as Costa's array of great coffees. There are also approx 10 seating areas outside & more than adequate parking. It is still providing hand sanitiser & the toilet plus disabled/baby change toilet are clean & smell fresh. The perspex dividers still remain between serving staff and ordering customers. Staff are friendly, polite & provide very good service. Despite running out of Caramel syrup for my daughter's choice of coffee they did make it with Gingerbread syrup on my daughter's request & she was very happy with it. I really like the relaxed ambience at Costa's & find it's the same throughout the chain. And I much prefer a proper cup & saucer for drinking coffee or tea. It was well ventilated & each visit I've noted that either the AC is in or/& the door open. Very welcoming. Superb coffees. Relaxing. Disabled access friendly....

All i can say is what went wrong. Just a handful of months ago i gave this place a five star review. We are regular customers coming a couple of times a week but over the last few week the staff seems to have totally changed over. There is often items missing on the menu, lack of pastries and cakes and the service has dropped so significantly that we have voted with our feet. Last visit i ended up demanding a refund and walking over to Starbucks instead. The place was an absolute mess especially behind the counter, staff couldn't care less and the young woman that took our order was just unpleasent. I've left my original review for comparison and edited. Such a shame that its been allowed to slide so badly, area needs to seriously take a look at this store.
