Thimpson Store in Harpur: The owner is not a fair and clear person in his way of acting. Commerce is more than doing the job and charging for it. Commerce is about making clear the price of a service, respecting and retaining customers. Details of my disappointment: I prepared, through an app, a document-size photo for printing there (£0.55), all correct. When I took the material to print, the man said it wouldn't work (believe me, it would! I've done this before). He took this photo, checked the measurements (it was correct), and printed it through one of his programs. At no time did he mention that the price would be different. After cropping the photos, he charged £11! This is the price it would have been if he had taken the picture and done all the work. Not the price for an already prepared picture only printed there. There seemed to be a lot of groups of men huddled around which made me feel a little uncomfortable, possibly quite innocent behaviour but it seemed a little alien to me.
I don't linger any longer than I had to and shuffled back to my car (when I eventually worked out where the car park was!) making a mental note not to...

There used to be an epic spiral ramp leading to the lower levels of W H Smith and the gym group there, but they replaced it with bog standard staircase and a disabled access elevator. Functional, but no character! 🤷♂️ the toilets at ground level are pretty grim here too, but hopefully the work on the basement toilets is due to be completed soon and will be much better. Still, as a mainstay of High Street retail outlets here in Bedford, the old place is still...
