Read moreEnjoyed a night out with 8 friends for dinner at local Italian restaurant Cozze in Woodley. Spacious with comfortable bench seating/chairs and a warm ambience.
Friendly staff and good service. Wide menu choice includes: pizza, pasta, chicken, fish, burgers, fries, salads, starters, deserts, drinks and coffee/teas. Plus a few vegetarian dishes.
The 'Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil Pesto Salad' as a starter was fresh tasting and delicious ... although at just over £6 it's midrange ££ price wise.
By comparison, the bowl of 'Pasta Carbonara' had very little creamy sauce or ham so was rather bland in flavour. However adding black pepper and grated Parmesan cheese improved both taste and texture. But at just over £10 per dish with no vegetable/salad accompaniments, again the price ££ is mid-range.
Potato/sweet potato fries and a mixed salad are also available, each priced at £3.95 for a small serving.
The desert menu is fairly limited but includes the traditional coffee-liqueur-flavoured, Italian desert of Tiramasu with various ice-creams/sorbets, sticky toffee pudding with ice-cream and chocolate profiteroles.
We enjoyed a couple of bottles of chilled Sauvignon Blanc wine which complimented the food choice but again, at around £18 per standard 70cl bottle, it's quite expensive.
However, it was a pleasant evening with gr8 company and good service so as a mid-range restaurant ££ price-wise, we paid £34.00 each...
Read moreWas my favourite place to dine in Woodley. For our family occasions did love this place. Great food, lovely service and superb atmosphere. Forgot to give my 20% off voucher code, as on a previous visit the waitress had applied it with no prompting. Assumed the same in this case. I didnt check the bill and so was charged full whack. My fault I did not check there and then. Contacted restaurant the next day and they refuse to retrospectively apply the discount. Saying it's my fault. Pushed the matter and was told they would call back, no one has called back. Offer is advertised outside, and as mentioned previous dinner in May they applied it before asking. All feels quite grubby from a "family run restaurant". You have kept £25 from me, but we will never come here again. Short sighted, grubby way of thinking. Family won't be happy but it is what it is. One lousy experience is all it takes. Enjoy the...
