They were kind enough not to charge us for our coffee and tea after totally forgetting to take my husband's sandwich order to the kitchen. I didn't even get my short bread which was on the counter and could have been delivered with our drinks. But by the time I chased the food we had been waiting 30+minutes for a breakfast sandwich and shortbread and our order had not even gone to the kitchen. We told them not to bother with it as we had no desire to take over an hour just to eat a sandwich. I deliberated over whether or not to review the cafe based on the fact the staff were quick to apologize and offered our drinks for free but I think it's important that people are aware that sometimes a cafe gets things wrong. A ye olde, relaxing, quaint and warm tea room. The friendly , family feeling, atmosphere affects you as soon as you walk in ( don’t forget to duck !) and greeting fellow customers with smiling ‘ Good morning’ seems so natural.
On entry the smell of cooking was delightful, and I couldn't resist a cheese scone and butter with my coffee, this with comfortable sitting by the window, admiring the scene of St Andrews church was perfect.
My intention was to also take advantage of the pavement seating, however the weather had other ideas.
There’s none of this modern rushing around, get in then get out with a plastic smile rubbish.
Whether on holiday or a local, please take time to visit this wonderful little coffee room, you...
Read moreWe have visited the Daffodil cafe numerous times on our trips to the lakes and scotland. The cafe is in a beautiful setting, with other shop's in a garden square in the shadow of the local church. Lovely atmosphere in a oldie worldly property. The ladies who serve us, I think the owners, are very welcoming friendly and lovely hosts. We usually have a full breakfast with coffe and its superb, and very reasonably priced. If your passing, you wont be disappointed. We park the other side of the church in a small disc zone area. Always a space ...one thing to mention....mind your head when...
