Dobbies Cafe — Restaurant in England

If I had the option to give NO STARS I would! My partner and I popped into this Costa on a day out, and wasn't pleased with the customer service we received. To start things off, we stood waiting at the counter whilst members of staff 'floated about" as if they didn't know what to do. Eventually we ordered our 2 hot chocolates and cakes, which took the man two attempts on the till. We asked for one extra hot, but this request was ignored and both our drinks were made from warmed up hot chocolate mix in a jug which was only just warm. Who knows how long that had been there! We also ordered marshmallows and whipped cream with our drinks, which we had to ask about 5 times for, and by the time they hit the cup they were dropped in spilling hot chocolate over the counter! After receiving our drinks we waited for our cakes to be served, however the two members of staff stood there half asleep look bored as heck and still not really knowing what to do. They eventually triggered that something was wrong, and asked if we needed anything else and after beingtold finally served our cakes, nearly dropping my shortbread on the floor! My partner nearly told the yound lads to 'wake up' as they were waltzing around as though in a dream and laughing about it. We were appalled with this service! The staff here are always very friendly and helpful. As someone who uses a walking stick, I appreciate that I'm usually offered to have my tray brought to my table for me. It's quite popular, with a lunch crowd, as well as friends meeting up for a coffee and chat. The variety and quality of food and drinks on offer is very good, and it's been clean every time I've been there. It's worth noting that dogs are also welcome, and they're often offered a treat or two! Don't forget that if you have a Dobbies club card, you're entitled to 2 free drinks a month! Although this place looks great, it’s clean and tidy, the food and service were appalling. I ordered a pasty and jacket potato with cheese and beans. They warmed the pasty up which came out burnt, the jacket potato came out with a different topping. Sent the potato back and they gave me the right one but the potato was solid and the beans were straight out the tin and cold. Ended up with a refund. I won’t go back and would not...
