We recently retired and moved to Hungerford. We have been spending time checking out the many pubs/eateries in the town. Last Sunday 19 September we booked Sunday lunch at The Downgate where their previous chef has recently returned. Five star food. Five star service. Five star everything. Delicious partridge. Excellent roast beef. The roast potatoes are to die for. Proper strong coffee! My main, ribs, was much better than I expected when I first saw it and my colleagues steak looked great and was cooked as rare as he asked for.

Great choice of meals, chargrilled steak, scampi and curry went down a treat. A well proportioned meal as well. As for the puddings.. well what a choice!!
