I have visited five times all of which have had there issues. The first time it took over 30 minutes to get our food - not a problem in particular for me as I was not in a rush, but whilst waiting I saw that some other customers were not treated in a particularly good fashion. Someone who had specifically reserved a table was shown to the worst, most cramped table in the house despite others being open! An elderly patron was left to fend for herself although she clearly wished to receive a menu and have guidance as to ordering. The second time was for a take away coffee. All I can say is that the staff were not friendly in any way and served someone who came in later than several of us in line. The third time was for a sit in scone, cake and coffee. This went ok, but the baked goods were not tasty and once again the service was not friendly. When I asked for water I was directed to get it from a terracotta vase. Matching terracotta cups were provided to the side. It is a visually cute idea, but the items were not clean. The fourth time was with my mom. We got cakes and coffees and when she asked what one of the unlabeled cakes was, the server was downright rude and seemed like answering was beneath her. When we tried to carry our tray to the courtyard, for some reason the staff were very sharp and said we could not, it would be brought. Ok. When the tray was brought out, the server was put out that we had taken forks and napkins already. Finally, on my fifth and last attempt to enjoy Elaines despite two staff members standing behind the counter, I was completely ignored. I walked out the door and its the last time I'll be using it. I dont have a problem with the place in principle, but the service has proven itself to be consistently poor, unhelpful, and actually slightly...

We've been here before and had a fairly decent experience, which is why we came back today. The food is rather expensive and the portions are of what I would consider a medium size. There are a couple of nice vegan options, which is lovely.

Today, however, when I went to order, I had a most surreal experience. I stood in the queue like everyone else, and when I got to the front, the woman operating the checkout leaned around me to take the order of the man behind me. He ordered (I believe) two flat whites and there was some difficulty with paying while I checked that I was still visible. After he left, I stepped forward again to place my order only for her to lean around me again to take the order of the third person in the queue. When that person had ordered and everyone in the queue apart from me had been served, she turned around and started wiping down surfaces and shuffling cups around. It was only when another member of staff clocked my puzzled expression and asked if I had been served that my mind was put to rest and I was reassured that this wasn't some kind of out-of-body experience.

I don't know if I've done anything to upset you, in which case I am very sorry and hope I can make it up for you in some way, but I have to say that it was one of the stranger experiences I've had in cafes and did rather taint my experience of the otherwise...

Eliane of Hungerford, located at The Courtyard, 24 High St, Hungerford RG17 0NF, is a culinary gem that offers a diverse and delectable menu catering to various dietary preferences, including gluten-free and vegetarian options.

During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying the chicken medley and the eggs Benedict. The chicken medley was a harmonious blend of flavors, with tender, juicy pieces of chicken complemented by a medley of fresh, vibrant vegetables. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s dedication to quality and taste.

The eggs Benedict was equally impressive. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, with yolks that oozed delightfully over the succulent chicken and toasted English muffin. The hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy, tying the dish together beautifully.

Beyond these standout dishes, Eliane’s commitment to healthy and organic ingredients is evident throughout their menu. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for both casual meals and special occasions. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall dining experience.

For those seeking a restaurant that combines delicious food with a health-conscious approach, Eliane of Hungerford is a must-visit. Their innovative dishes and dedication to accommodating various dietary needs set them apart in the Hungerford...

This cafe is slightly hidden off the high street but I highly recommend going out of your way to find it! The food was the most delicious flavour I've ever had. My husband had goats cheese and peppers and I had roasted potatoes/aubergine and poached eggs. My description doesn't do it justice! Absolutely yummy, served in a cute mini frying pan with wholemeal bread. We also had a gorgeous mango smoothie too. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the surroundings were clean and beautifully decorated. There is a lovely outdoor seating area. Although I think the cafe was closing in about an hour they were packing up the tables and chairs which was absolutely fine but did make us feel just a little unwelcome. We would have stayed for cake and drinks but thought you probably wanted to get off home so thought it best to head off. None the less, please can you branch out into SW London were we are from?? Thank you for making our lunch so delicious. relaxing and unusual!

Had roasted salmon and cauliflower salad—they're good, esp the cauliflower salad! However the Collagen Lift smoothie (just a mix of mango, orange, lemon, collagen and a couple of more things) was blended too smooth (or they just mainly used juice) and not as thick as how I like a smoothie to be. It felt more like juice than smoothie although it tasted alright (sweet and sour). Not even cold enough. All in all, the food was good. I think they charged £13.95 for the salmon and one veg selection (I could have chosen 3 veg dishes and paid £19.95!) The smoothie wasn't but you like juice you might like it (though it's overpriced). Haven't tried the cake though they looked interesting.

A beautiful eatery in a lovely town. We visited Eliane on our way back from the Cotswolds. Unfortunately we just missed brunch (only served until 11am and then again from 12pm onwards), however we ordered some tea and waited to sample the salads on offer for lunch. We weren't disappointed! Fresh ingredients with very interesting flavour combinations and textures. Eliane also has a wonderful selection of baked goods, fresh juices and smoothies. The fresh ginger tea with honey and lemon is the best I've had. A must for brunch/lunch if you are in the area.
