El Pollo Takeaway — Restaurant in England

Absolutely delicious fried chicken. Big juicy pieces of fresh chicken. Generous amount of chips. Excellent value for money. Delivery guy very pleasant and polite. Expectations exceeded. Highly recommend.

Ordered again on 10th August. I ordered late and there was some confusion about delivery/collection. Staff member on the telephone was very helpful and arranged delivery after their opening hours which was much appreciated. Again, the fried chicken pieces and chips were fresh, hot and totally delicious. I even got an extra piece of chicken. Chicken pieces and fries were seasoned well and not too salty. Great value for money especially compared to other takeaways. My order was definitely adequate for two people. Essentially, that works out at about £6 per person and delivery. The only downside was the staff member that delivered the food basically looked totally miserable (in contrast to my previous). He handed me the food brashly and with no pretence at appearing polite. He mumbled something under his breath and just took off. I umderstand it was late, but there is no legitimate reason to offer such poor customer service. I had a fiver in my hand to give as a tip, but didn't even get the chance to hand it over. Also, because of his attitude I wouldn't have given it to him anyway which is a pity. My experience with el pollo isn’t Great. Ordered a burger and it came half the burger down and chips down. Never come as described. Further more big dirty hair in the burger. Rang the takeaway and told them about this said they’ll send someone out straight away with the money and to get the burger. Waited a hour and half nobody has come. Rang them they promised they’d be there within ten minutes. Here we are 50 minutes later with no sign of anyone. You ring the shop and it’s just some young lad who stuck with words not knowing what to do. Not really the best of customer services been sat waiting hours. No doubt if I made a order they’d be here straight away. Yet when they’ve got hairs hanging out there food and they’ve gotta hand something back it’s a different story. I look online at their website and saw that they sell Chicken Gyros and Lamb Gyros, which I am partial to. Later that evening I went there and ordered one of each to take away. I was somewhat dissapointed when I got home and opened the box. If you go to Google and type in Gyros (images) you will see what Gyros are. Ours looked nothing like that at all. What I had was Donner kebab meat and chips, some Tzatziki dip on the side and half a flat bread placed on the top. My wifes Chicken Gyros was much the same apart from chicken flavour.
