The Angel — Restaurant in England

Myself, my husband and colleagues visited this pub. It was heaving with nowhere to sit. I have spinal problems and cannot stand for long. I got a stool and sat near the stairs to private residence to be near my friends etc. One security man asked me to move which I tried to explain my disability and reason I was there. He grabbed hold of me, witnessed by many people, and physically withdrew me from the premises. I wasn't abusive and didn't do anything to warrant this behaviour. I stood in the lobby and waited for my friends to finish their drinks. The other security man asked me to leave the lobby. As it was raining heavily I didn't want to obviously. Went in today for lunch & sat outside Firstly & prob most importantly the food was very good , best fish & chips i have tasted for a long time , everybody in our party of 5 was happy with the food . The only negative point i want to make is in my opinion the lady behind the bar who took our order (owner/ manageress? ) seemed stressed out & very short on patience . Cant be an easy job but we def noticed an air of agitation & lack of patience in her Manner . We can't have a night in Beverley without visiting The Angel..it's like reliving my young adulthood again. The atmosphere is brilliant, it amuses me that one minute it's heaving and the next it's empty! Drinks prices are good, 2x doubles with mixers, glass of pinot and a pint of Peroni for less than £20 what's not to love. Personal favourite and highlight for me is Stu's Karaoke on a Saturday night. It's a great mixture of people like myself who really shouldn't sing and others who fill the room with awe, there are even a few who sing random novelty songs and pretty much everyone joins in.
