Everest Lounge — Restaurant in England

We use to go to the Nepalese 8848 in Stamford pre lockdown and then everything stopped. It was sad to know that Everest Lounge opened the day before lockdown:(( One day open and then closed for a considerable time. We know the chefs at Stamford and have had a great experience with some excellent food. No it's not Indian but in some cases probably better. So on Friday 27th May, our 3rd meal out in two years, we ordered a take away LLK which is basically a garlic chilli chicken dish together with a lamb jalfrezi. A 5* experience and hats off to the chef because he delivered big time. It was amazing and if anyone out there is reading this review don't hesitate to give this restaurant a go. You will not be disappointed (however that does depend on the chef whose cooking that day) Seriously good and I'm a chef at our very own Ashwell Bistro and we make our own flatbreads and add more red/green pepper to bulk out the dish. My wife and I had a takeaway from Everest Lounge this evening and I have to say it was the best takeaway we have had in a long time, and we've had a few during lockdown!

The food was fantastic with rich flavours in the mains and side dishes and subtle flavours in the rice which is often lacking from generic Indian takeaways. The food I had was Chicken Momos, Lasun Kukhura Khursani with Jeera Rice. The main course was spicy but not Vindaloo/Madras hot as a point of reference. One thing we both noticed when we opened it at home was the lack of oil (Ghee) that you often find on the surface of Indian food, it stains the worktops and often leaves an odd after taste in your mouth. There was none of this with the food from Everest Lounge just wholesome very tasty food so we would both highly recommend it!

The restaurant, while empty at the moment because of COVID-19, had a very pleasant feel and a nice 'Everest' theme so we both look forward to visiting in the near future.

We ordered our food on just eat. Usually never had a problem, however tonight, they got our order wrong. We politely called up, which led us to the women connecting us to the delivery driver, we explained the situation which led into her arguing with us saying that we was wrong, we explained we ordered two different curry’s and chips, but got cold chips and two of the same curry’s, she continued to say “i double checked the bag” repeatedly. We then asked her if she could come look at the order and take it back as it was quite obvious it wasn’t ours as it had multiple items inside that we didn’t order. she refused and implied we was lying and then said “i checked with the chef” and that resulted with her ending the phone, so if you go here be prepared to argue when you...
