Was seated at 5 to 9, took our orders 5 minutes later. Food arrived at 5 past 10. I ordered the mixed seafood pasta, I received 2 prawns, 1 piece of squid and 14 mussel shells. Only 5 of which had the meat in them. ( The rest were not even prevalent within the dish) the seafood sauce was nice but that's about it, the waiter didnt check back after serving us our food until half an hour later, to at which point he asked us how our food was. (something he should have done a few minutes after serving).everyone else replied with the food was good, and I don't doubt them. But I obviously had something to say about the lack of 'mixed seafood' within the dish and the abundance of shells, to which the waiter didn't take very well. he said I should have told him when I got the food. Which is something that wouldn't have been obvious until I was eating the dish, as I don't tend to pull apart a dish and inspect it before eating since I tend to have faith at most places where I eat. Also by this point I was already so hungry after over an hour of waiting. He then went on to argue that he never has had a complaint and this is how the mixed seafood dish always comes.. To which I further told my point. I didn't get a sorry, he said he will fix me up a small side if I want one, which I replied no since it was 40 minutes after we was served our food. Didn't really want to wait another hour, and his reaction didn't really warm me up enough to order more food. The waiter then handed us the dessert menus,. Came back a few minutes later, he asked 2 of the people at the table if they wanted one, but didn't even bother asking me or even looking my way, also didn't ask or look at my friend next to me who actually wanted a dessert. We all would have had one if he didn't make us feel so awkward about my comment. And the friend who wanted one anyway would have had one if he'd even bothered to look our way. To at which point we decided to leave. Upon paying he offered me a 20 off voucher, for next time. Im sorry but there won't be a next time after that service. I didn't come to San Giorgio to be "that" customer trying to score some free food or to be excruciatingly picky. I came to enjoy some food with friends & This being the first complaint ive ever made about food at a restaurant. All in all most of the party enjoyed their food, mine was off the mark. this whole review wouldn't have been wrote if the waiter didn't argue with me about my thoughts on my food and make us all feel awkward and the service thereafter was upto scratch. But unfortunately it wasn't. Two stars, both of which are merits to other people's food...
Read moreWow. This was really disappointing. Personally my dish was nice, but it’s the most unwelcome I’ve ever felt in a restaurant. We were a group of 10 adults and 2 young children, we booked 2 weeks in advance and had the super early booking time of 5:30 (because of the children). We pre-booked mains, and were told we could order starters on the night. I couldn’t tell if Rafael, the main server, was trying to be humorous or if he was just plain rude. Instantly rushing us, asking why our party wasn’t all here (trying to find parking) 10mins into our booked time, we were missing 2 chair / places, he avoided understanding this and bringing the extra seating, even though he knows how many mains we’ve pre-ordered. All his comments made me instantly feel like he resented us being there. As soon as we were all in he said our mains were ready to come out, no opportunity to order starters, seemed annoyed at people ordering drinks, when someone asked if there was Parmesan he replied you already asked me twice - I certainly didn’t hear him ask. Two people ordered the grilled chicken main, the menu says it comes with either seasonal vegetables or fries - both came with a plain piece of chicken with a very small salad garnish. They waited a while, eventually I asked if the dish came with anything else - he practically shouted over that they hadn’t asked for anything…. Even though the menu says it comes with it. Who orders dry plain chicken with nothing else?? He might have been trying to be funny, but it was very awkward and uncomfortable, very unpleasant, and we couldn’t wait to leave. I noticed smaller tables of couples who arrived after us weren’t subjected to his “personality”, so I’m sure if you just came for the food and had none of the attitude, you might indeed leave a lovely review. We left as quickly as we could, which is a shame as we were having a family meet up, living several hours away from each other. Had the experience been nicer we would have got starters, desserts, more drinks. As it was we ate our mains, finished our drinks, and left. If your restaurant can’t handle larger groups - don’t accept the booking!!...
Read moreHad a very dissapointing evening. Absolutely disgusting. Literally everything we ordered tasted awful.
We waited 25minutes for our starters which turned out to be raw beef. Why didnt they mention this when ordering? What on earth where we waiting for if nothing was being cooked??
On top of that, instead of exchanging our substandard meals for something else they, charged us EXTRA! In the end the meal cost us £72.50!! We cant shake the taste or smell of the veal after brushing our teeth several times. There was an advertisement outside the restaurant: 3 course meal for £15. A lot of the main courses alone cost more than this. False advertising! The meal we had was no where near value for money and this is the issue we had. Although food was well presented, it just seemed to be a cover for its low quality.
We felt extremely uncomfortable as an angry waiter was openly venting about a group of unsatisfied customers who complained that their food was too salty. The music played was innapropriate (house music) and was actually just a youtube playlist complete with ads. It was also too loud and I couldn't hear what my girlfriend was saying half the time. The only reason my review has 1 star is because i'd like to post this.
I'd recommend the cranberry juice and...
