They have a public piano there, I have been on it time to time for a year an a half and always have thought that one of the staff were giving me dirty looks, as if I'm BAD at piano. A year and half and a few hundred pounds of tips (estimated) later, she tells me 'can we have a break now' and I gain the courage to ask ' do you have an issue with me' and she said that I don't play 'proper tunes' even though I have gained alot of money from tips and everyone seems to enjoy my music. I did tell her to look at herself and instead of criticising me (the guy who has 7 seperate official certificates from the royal board of music) she should stop being miserable and let me play on the public piano which I am respectful with. We popped into Blackburn Market just as The Exchange Coffee Company was closing, and despite that, the staff went above and beyond to help us. My wife needed to feed our little one, and they kindly let us use the feeding area without hesitation. Even though they were winding down for the day, they still let us buy some cold drinks and thoughtfully provided cups and ice as well.

A rare kind of place, I must have been going there for most of my life, comfortable, friendly, an interesting menu, when you ask for coffee, they have bought the beans in, roasted them, and ground them, so the quality is very good, there is a list of the different coffees, and as you leave you can choose which you fancy, tell them what type of coffee machine you have, and they will grind it accordingly, now that is service!, they also have a unit on the ground floor of Blackburn mall that also sells the same coffee's and the list of types, giving the origin of the beans, and what they are suitable...
