Blond female waiter made our entire group of four very uncomfortable the entire time with strange comments and jokes throughout. Burger tasted like the asda vegan chicken fillets wrapped in batter with no sauce at all. Morrocon tageine was microwaved and tasted like bought morrocon style couscous on top of potato, sweet potato and carrot. Grim grim grim
Corrections after reply below tageines came from downstairs not wood fired beside us, we watched them come up the stairs. 2 of our party have worked in cafes and restaurants for years and swear by it being microwaved We have no bread or dips at all, I think you've got us confused with another table who have clearly also been unsatisfied with their meal in the same night So you've bought in cheap wholesale morrocon cous cous and burgers from brakes I've just found it on the site. Theres no difference and you are still charging 13 pounds for cheap bland food Waitress looked blonde but if not had light coloured hair maybe highlighted, rather than focusing on pedantic maybe actually address the fact the one of your staff members made us feel uncomfortable. She literally stared at us multiple times with sarcastic facial expressions and mocking my partner's accent which is completely inappropriate and disgusting. Shame on you
If any potential customers are seeing this please do not consider going here this discussion shows their attitude towards customers. In the end we had a horrible and uncomfortable experience with one of their staff members and this is how poor their...
Read moreIt’s hard to imagine a place doing their job worse than they just did. I walked in, nobody noticed. I had to get someone’s attention to see where I should sit. I then spent 10 minutes trying to get a servers attention. It’s a tiny place so I don’t know how it was so difficult. I got my order in of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast (from the menu.) Half an hour (!) later, I ask where my food is, and the waitress says it will be two minutes. At which point she brings me two fried eggs on toast. I ask for a refund and they bring me cash even though I used a card because it’s 2021. In the end I walked out 50 mins later having not eaten and having to check with bank if the refund had been processed properly, which is still unconfirmed. Now I’m starting a very long work day on an empty stomach because they struggle to make scrambled eggs on toast. I am furious and in shock that a place could be so bad. I don’t know how long they’ve been there but when they’re gone in about a year, it won’t...
Read moreI was recommended Il Forno & I'm glad me & my partner went.
The food was great - they had an interesting selection of dishes.
The people were very friendly - you'll feel more like a guest than a customer here.
The arcade it's situated in has a nice laid back feel to it.
What stood out for me: My partner has caeliac & it's always a nightmare trying to find a place that approaches their Gluten Free options with allergies in mind as opposed to a lifestyle choice. A lot of places don't take it very seriously, or aren't very aware of the allergy, often listing things as Gluten Free even when it's cooked on the same grill as other things. When we came here however they were very accomodating & even modified a dish for gluten allergy. It was very kind & made us feel comfortable. They even explained the precautions that were being taken in the kitchen which gave us peace of mind.
The complimentary mint tea was a nice touch =)
Will be coming back again...
