This is the most disappointing Indian restaurant I have even been to and Indian is my go to meal. I got a booking confirmation at 1020 after booking a table for that even great. Driving to the restaurant I get a phone call saying we can't come untill 8pm because they dont have room for 6 people luckily 2 people didn't come so we got in with 4 people expecting the restaurant to be full. At the end of the night I asked what the reason was for them telling us we couldn't bring 6 people when the table for 6 was empty tge full time we were there and she had no reason for this. When we arrived the was 1 person in the restaurant. The table set out for 6 was empty the full time we were there. I had a confirmation email for the booking and she troed to tell my that the email wasnt a confirmed bookig when i pointed out it was she ignored me. We sat down and noticed straight away it was very highly priced for food and drinks a soft drink (1 can of soft drink) almost £4! Rip off. We ordered our food and it came out in small dishes I asked the woman if the had gave up the small portion and she said no that it the main meal size it was more like a starter portion. A lady in the restaurant asked for a glass of white wine and we were sat next to the bar the woman got a bottle out the fridge that had already been opened used and refilled as the wine was to the very top of the bottle, the lid did not crack open it was alright loose and wine bottle are not filled up the neck of the bottle. I had a red wine and it tasted very weak and the colour was light it tasted watered down the dark red colour of red wine was not there. We got the bill and I asked the woman if that small dish was right at the price of £11 she said yes I said that's very expensive for what you serve and she just shrugged her shoulders. When I asked for the 4 separate bills the other girl said she cant do it and it was on one bill. If you want a good Indian with good portions do not go to the rip off restaurant. My friend I was with had to order another portion of curry because it was that small and he isn't a big eater so that shows how small it was. The restaurant he was at a couple night ago served the same meal in a much bigger portion this is why he only ordered one portion thinking it wasn't going to be a...
Read moreSTAY AWAY. The hospitality of this place is terrible and the owners & waiters are extremely disrespectful towards customers. I booked this restaurant through groupon for my partner’s birthday, as he loves Indian food, and it was a terrible experience. They sent us a very unprofessional text message a few hours before our booking telling us we had to go to the Westbourne restaurant instead of the Bournemouth one due to it suddenly being closed down (which I don’t believe, I feel like they just didn’t want to accommodate us). Once we arrived at the Westbourne restaurant, which was a 15 min drive away instead of the 2 min walk that it should’ve been to the original restaurant, and a lot smaller than the original restaurant, Raj the waiter said we weren’t allowed to use the groupon voucher even though it had already been brought (why have your restaurant available on groupon if you don’t want people to use it?). We argued against it and finally they allowed us to use it, but then there was a whole other issue of us only being able to order from a set menu (which was not stated anywhere on the groupon voucher). During this time, Raj was being extremely rude and dismissive towards my partner and myself, baring in mind it was my partners birthday and I was very upset that my partner was becoming upset. He finally said we could order from the normal menu (which should have been the case anyway) but we ended up just leaving due to the terrible customer service up to this point. The least they could have done is accommodate what we were already entitled to, without all the fuss, knowing that they inconvenienced us by moving us to a whole new restaurant. We managed to get a refund from groupon but I would stay away from this place, very rude manager & waiters and would not...
Read moreAs someone who's had the privilege of both working at and visiting Dilli Haat's Westbourne branch, I can confidently say that this place has a vibe like no other. It's a space where customers are greeted with warmth, and you can tell that the staff genuinely enjoy being there.
My experience as an employee has been nothing short of amazing. I've worked in several places before, and while I've had good experiences, Dilli Haat truly stands out. The work culture here is something special—the owners treat their employees with respect and kindness, which creates a positive environment that makes working here a pleasure. It's rare to find a workplace where you feel valued and supported every single day, but that's exactly what you get at Dilli Haat.
I’m fortunate to work alongside colleagues like Akshatha, Keerthana, and Raj, who bring such a friendly and welcoming attitude to the table. Working with them feels more like being part of a family than just a job. I genuinely believe that when the work environment is as positive as it is here, it translates directly into the service we provide to our customers.
Food-wise, Dilli Haat never disappoints. My personal favorite is the handi-cooked hot chicken biryani. It's the dish I always recommend and the one I turn to when I want something comforting and delicious. The flavors are authentic, and the quality is consistently excellent.
Overall, whether you're coming in as a customer or working behind the scenes, Dilli Haat Westbourne is a place where positivity thrives. It's a joy to be part of, and I'm proud to say it's one of the best places I've...
