Cheese and wine as a combination..what's not to like? However, based on my first experience here I found it problematic, certainly for a group of six. You can choose taster wine flights of varying quality levels, which gives you three white, red or rose wines. They cannot be varied across flights. All your food comes on a platter at once, so of course you really want white and red simultaneously (if you like both..I do). We chose a platinum white flight, which created the first problem. Our table was almost full with a long platter, plus water jug plus glasses. And when you each get a flight this uses up all the remaining space in front of you. You now have 3 small white wines, all your varied food and nowhere else to put anything. Flights are also expensive, this one means £16 for 150ml of wine. Clearly that's totally insufficient for a full meal. We finished the whites, and then had room to order a bottle of red. Hmmm. Now to the platter: it was arranged with all the meat at one end, all the cheese at the other - so inevitably each end ate more of what was in front of them, having to find a way to ferry stuff the other end couldn't reach across to get themselves...remember my point about a totally stuffed table? This process disrupted your ability to eat your own food and/or savour the wines. Solution - vary the foods across the platter. Finally, service..sadly patchy and at times inattentive. There were three staff and it was not hugely busy on a Tuesday evening. At one point, with our whites running out and a desire to order a red, the staff at the counter were huddled around something on a screen and oblivious to customer need, with much hand waving (and in desperation even a whistle) to get attention. I do not expect to return on...
Read moreI would have left a zero star for service but unfortunately that was not an option. The food was lovely, truly. However, the service we received from our server towards the end of the night when paying was embarrassing for the establishment. We tipped her £20 cash, so we politely asked for gratuity to be taken off and we were met with a nasty attitude. I really am disappointed. The deposit paid for a table of 10 was not considered whatsoever when it came to paying, we all individually ended up over paying. This was met by our server with no accountability or help. we had tipped her prior to this because she was lovely. I am very confused as to why this even occurred. This is not an establishment i would recommend for any kind of celebration.
i am already anticipating a hostile passive aggressive review, as seen with other people who had the same issue. if they reply with the same type of hostile answer, you guys know we are...

Louise served us beautifully last night , gave us good advice on choices with a nice manner. . Food and wine simple but excellent Couldn’t fault it!!
A suggestion - could the owners consider adding a fish choice board or options , maybe pot of prawns, crab mousse, taramasalata, smoked salmon , crab pot? Just ideas not criticism at all.
Also, Louse said the company doesn’t have a recognition program for staff , we would have liked to put her forward for something , another thought maybe ??
We’ll be going again soon , as well as booking a table for 6 at Canford Cliffs in March , hope...
