Saturday afternoon, just after 13.30, and the place is packed. Well, it should be to be honest. All the tables are full of bustle, and the waiting window stools are full of those hopefuls next to occupy and taste the delights of Fara! We didn't have to wait long, but we didn't even get to sample the window stools before being shown to a table. I have to say, there is a definite feel of Brighton here. That kind of bohemian laid back like it or leave it. It's a kind of likeable, fun arrogance. The menu is small, but I like that. It means the kitchen can really focus on the ingredients, what goes on the plates, and goodness me. What goes on the plates is so so good, delicious, and done very well. We ordered tea. Earl Grey for me, and builders tea for my girlfriend (her words not mine 😅). At the same time of going up and ordering our teas, we order our food. We ordered the Turkish Eggs and the Shakshuka. A 35-minute wait was advised, but hey, this is real food, and the place was packed. No big deal. Our teas arrived in glass tea kind of cafetieres on these wooden boards. I love a cuppa, and Earl Grey is a comfort for me. Not the best I have to say, even after leaving it for the recommend few minutes, it was still, well, boring. The builders tea the same. The wooden boards a disaster too, too small, spill disasters were narrowly avoided. Well, the food. There are no substitutions or additions allowed. It says it on the menu. Bold, very bold and brave. I get it. It's a this is our food. Proper belief in the plates. The Turkish eggs. Garlicky yoghurty oh my goodness yummyness. Everything is working in harmony. The chilli oil is just enough, and the dill is adding that aromatic lasting earthy balance. The toast we could have had more was really enough. Mopping up the last drips of egg and yoghurt mix to leave a spotlessly clean plate. The Shakshuka is the same. Jo said it was the best ever, and even asked if we could make it at home! Fara is a real pleasure to eat at. I can see this restaurant/cafe, not sure which, but it will grow and grow. I hope it does. I hope the kitchen team sticks to its guns and doesn't change the winning formula either. It's good, blinking good. Go, taste, and eat. Walk away with a similar smile to mine.

A beautiful, relaxed, friendly and delicious place! Me and my husband came to Glastonbury to do some Christmas shopping and found this little gem on Google maps. So pleased we did! On arrival we received a lovely warm welcome, chose our table and were informed straight away the kitchen serves breakfast at 9 am not a problem as we weren't here to be in and out in a hurry. My flat white and my husband's tea arrived in good time and were wonderful. The music was lovely and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. Really nice just to relax and slow down. At 9 am our orders were taken I had the Turkish eggs with extra sourdough and my husband had the full English, breakfast arrived at 9.30 am we were told there would be a wait, not a problem and was well worth the wait. Our breakfasts were beautiful! I'm now a firm believer that garlic yoghurt belongs everything 😂 and my husband's breakfast with a Mediterranean twist was delicious...I'll be coming back for that next. You can tell alot of move goes into this small business. Staff were kind, relaxed and gave you space to chill and enjoy to experience. We lift, feeling happy, full, relaxed and will certainly be back. Thank you for looking after us so well.

I visited FARA a couple of weeks ago and forgot to post my review. I enjoyed my visit immensely - the food was very flavourful, the coffee was great and I got to try a couple of new things, all of which were deliciously prepared. The staff were happy to accommodate our request for a mimosa - which was presented very stylishly. Overall, the staff were attentive and friendly despite it being a busy morning. However, I will warn potential visitors that I came on a Monday morning and it was still fairly busy (we had the last free table indoors) so be prepared for this. There is also a note on the menu that the chef does not amend dishes, which was perfectly ok for me, but just be wary if you are a fussy eater. Another thing I would address to the FARA team is to consider wheelchair accessibility. I attended with my aunt who has cerebral palsy, and whilst she could make it up and down the small steps into the building/down to the toilets, she felt it was worth mentioning accessibility to see if any changes could be made - particularly for the step down to the bathroom! Many thanks. P.S. lovely cakes too, will defo be visiting again!

Others with sensitivities - Do not believe what FARA is writing below. This is the forth time now I have adjusted this review.

At the end of the day there was nothing on the menu I wanted other than the full English breakfast with modifications listed below due to sensitivities.

There was no point in continuing to stay (when 2 meals arrived) and watch my friends eat when I was hungry. (My friends were hungry and didn’t want them going hungry).

I was told by the front staff the chef was unwilling to make the modifications. This is the first time I have ever encountered this.

Someone showed empathy with my situation. Knowing someone close to them who experiences similar issues.

I just hope this review will help others make an informed decision whether or not to eat here if they struggle with allergies or sensitivities. I certainly do not recommend this place if you have to be careful with your diet. You might end up going to another venue to eat food you like or go hungry.

Sensitivities are not a choice and paying for food you don’t want (Tofu) is not a fantastic alternative.

—— 1st review Do not go to FARA if you have allergies or sensitivities.

Asked for mushrooms, bread and eggs to be removed from their breakfast due to sensitivities and the chef declined.

I was told to come back to FARA on a week day.

Had to watch my friends eat whilst I could have nothing substantial with protein from the menu.

I was given my drink for free, but this is the first place that has declined to be accommodating to my sensitivities.

Second additional review Edit- Ended up going to ‘my fine deli’ down the road on my own.

Third additional review Edit after FARA response - I narrowed down my choice to the full English breakfast after considering my sensitivities looking at your menu.

I am unsure what you mean about the chef being accommodating understanding my sensitivities. I was told to come back on a weekday when it was less busy. (Not very practical when I was hungry and live more than an hour away).

I don’t eat out often due to the sensitivities so it’s a treat for me. I prioritise enjoying my meal when eating out so opted against other dishes including tofu.

Despite a lengthy wait for a table, I refrained from inconveniencing my friends by changing venues and instead researched alternatives.

Reassured by information on the “my fine deli” website, I initially planned to wait for my friends to finish their orders (two had arrived before I left). However I was hungry after seeing their food so headed to...

This Place looked very appealing on arrival and we did recieve a warm welcome.

However.

When we proceeded to order breakfast. We went for four adult full English breakfasts and one child's portion. We had to ask for cutlery, condiments and napkins to a rather frosty response from the waiter and sadly a sense of inconvenience. Making us all feel uncomfortable to ask for anything further.

I had my son with me (2years old) and asked to order additional toast and butter however I was told that I could not order the toast until after the breakfast had been served, not acceptable in my opinion as we wanted him to have and eat toast before our main meal arrived.

I also struggled to understand why we couldn't simply remove items from the plate? I appreciate and understand the no swap options however why can't I not have something on my plate? The plate i am paying £15+ for?!? The ambience and setting was one we would recommend however the reactions and responses when making requests or asking for additional extras seemed uncomfortable and awkward from the staff. A simple explanation as to why our requests couldn't be accommodated would potentially of made this easier to accept. Just a suggestion, Perhaps a chef whom would be content in making changes, adaptations and ammendments to accommodate all customers may be a wonderful idea?!

What a shame Fara. An unjustified expense of...
