Abusive owner and staff! Do not go their if you have kids, dogs or anything that may annoy them. Just arrived in town after a long flight. Thought this cafe looked cute. Ordered some drinks from their menu which were ok. However, I soon noticed the strange behaviour of the owner who was directing strange comments towards my 5 year old Who was asking what's that etc. He avoided answering the questions of my child. He then said "ill give you a spoon full of that mate, hahah" without adressing me or looking at me once , regarding the spirulina on display. My son was obviously a little disturbed by the strange way of talking, but I thought it must be this man's way of communication and he didn't mean any harm. My son then had a tantrum moment, unhappy with his banana milk, and went to the window to look at the ornaments, he was not braking anything...but this man said, "Don't touch that mate ill throw you out of here in a minute" to a 5 year old! To which my son tapped him on the leg. This horrific man then turned to me and attacked me verbally shouting at me that we were scum and what kind of people were we. How I did not know what kind of life he had and better get out of his establishment for the insulting behaviour. He kept repeating his son was here today working over and over he said this, im not sure why....I tried to reason with him that this was a 5 year old boy, but he would not stop shouting, I couldn't get a word in edge ways. I realised there was no way to reason with a man in such mental turmoil....At one point I thought he will physically attack me at any moment. He was very intimidating. I saw my son had gone to hide at the back of the cafe under a table. I quickly paid, (his staff member, who made no eye contact but said to her boss, leave it), as i thought he may do something worse, whilst throughout this man continued his verbal assault. I collected my son and friend, who was also very shaken and left. I have since wondered whether I should have contacted the police to report this behaviour. Kids will be kids, but there is never an excuse for someone in customer service to behave that way, let alone to a mother and young child. I fear I am not the first nor the last to have experienced this treatment.

Food was very good, and decently priced, unfortunately service was very slow. It took close to 45 minutes to get the food out. Which was a shame as the atmosphere is nice enough and there's a lovely little garden around the back on nicer days. They even have a stash of toys and books to entertain little ones if you have a long wait for service. So all in all, a nice little cafe, but have had better service elsewhere in Glastonbury.

Came here for lunch with a couple of friends. Having lived here for years, I have no idea why I hadn’t come here before as I’ve been recommended it so many times! The garden was shut when I was here, but I heard it’s lovely. Food came quickly, was delicious and there was a really nice vibe in the cafe. Got a large portion for the price! Lovely spot for a bite to eat before or after venturing into Glastonbury Abbey!

I went into The Lazy Gecko earlier today and found the place very unacceptable! It started when my mum went to order at the bar (not knowing they “serve” you at your table) she then got told “go and sit down and I will come and serve you” by a youngish man with a goaty, a mullet and a trilby (rather unkept might I add) this man then completely ignored what he told her and disappeared. After about 10 minutes another guy asked if we’d been served, this man was very nice, he has dreads and was overall very kind to us, we ordered our food and drinks, and sat for about 5 minutes (maybe less) and the man with dreads came over, gave my mum her drink and told us they couldn’t not make any iced drinks at the time (I’d ordered and iced latte), he asked if I’d like anything else to I told him I would like a chai latte. We then sat for 5-10 minutes and got told that they’d ran out of the food i had ordered, so I ordered something else. We sat waiting again, we waited for another 10 minutes, if not more, before the man with the trilby came back and told us that they’d ran out of chai mix, I by this point was rather annoyed as this was the second drink I’d ordered, and we were still waiting on our food (my mum had only ordered nachos how long does it take to melt some cheese and scoop some sauce onto a plate?) my mum made a joke as the man in the trilby walked passed, she asked “have they put the cheese on the crisps yet” he then (very sarcastically) asked the chef her question, they responded “yes”, so why hadn’t we had our food yet? My mother’s friend asked “shall we leave as we’d been waiting for at least half an hour now” and we’d had all this trouble with our order, the man was still standing there and he got VERY offended by this and started raising his voice in anger saying “it would be very rude of you to leave” etc, my mum then explained why she was rather upset (by him ignoring what he’d said to her) and he (angrily again) said “I have other costumers to serve too!” My mum told him “we know this but we have been waiting for at least half an hour and we are going to run out of time on our parking ticket (we had put an hour on) he then got VERY rude and told us that he would cancel our food and he wanted us to leave “his” cafe, at this point I got up and walked out although my mum stayed and tell me he carried on being very insulting and...

I visited this place on a bank holiday. I don't live in Glastonbury but me and my partner both work here. My partner had to work on this bank holiday and I had the day off so I decided it would be a good idea to find a cafe and practice on some computer program I am learning at the moment. With the library closed on bank holidays I had no other option but to sit in a cafe. Everything was packed with people so after carrying around my laptop, that was starting to feel extremely heavy, the only place that was not full was the Lazy Gecko. So I decided to sit there. It was around 13:30. I found a tall, thin, grey haired man (presumably the owner) and asked him if they have Wi-Fi and if I can sit somewhere with my laptop. With his grumpy face he said that there is a free Wi-Fi around this area and that I can sit only if I bought something. I said that of course I would buy something. So I sat, ordered a juice and started doing my job. Here I need to mention that because I follow a special diet there is nothing really I can eat or drink in cafes. A couple of hours later he comes over my head and with his miserable face and says " this is not an internet cafe and I will not have you there sitting for £1.5 worth and you don't even drink it" And then he even looked at my monitor to see what nonsense I am doing and he went on to say that if it would be a rainy day that place would be full. I said to him that the library was closed, I collected my staff, paid and left. I was so upset I didn't even wait for my change. Apart from a young polite waiter everything else about this place was a disappointment. From the intimidating owner to the poorly ventilated space that was filled with the smell of...
