I could not recommend this place enough! We travelled from Plymouth for the day and decided to visit Fifty on the 24th April to end a lovely day out in Looe. We walked into a warm, lovely atmosphere. It's nice and quaint inside - a small place but not overcrowded or loud. The service was 10/10. We were served by Mark who was attentive and friendly but not at all fake. He was genuine, helpful and clearly cared about our experience. Mark explained how they can reseal champagne bottles so that customers can enjoy champagne by the glass rather than having to purchase a whole bottle, which was just a lovely touch and really interesting! He also checked in during our meal and specifically asked if the steak was cooked how I wanted. I genuinely don't think I've had such lovely service in years and the person I was with said the same. Thank you Mark! The food was spectacular and beautifully presented. We had scallops and bread as starters. The bread was fluffy and light. The scallops were amazing and the sauce with them was delicious. For the mains, my friend had the 3 Little Pigs (adorable name!) which was Pork Belly, Pork & Leek Crumble, Bacon Chilli Jam and Apple Gravy. I tried a little bit of the crumble and it was incredible. I had the Fillet Steak (med-rare) with Fondant Potato, Macaroni Cheese Bon Bon, Tenderstem Broccoli & Pepper Sauce. The potato was lovely and the macaroni cheese bon bon was such a unique touch. The steak was cooked beautifully. We both said the food was absolutely amazing. For dessert we had the trio of desserts which was cheesecake, semifreddo & sticky toffee pudding. It was one of the nicest sticky toffee puddings I have ever tried and it was all so nicely presented we almost didn't want to eat it! Perfect end to the evening. The food, service and overall experience was excellent and Fifty is one of the nicest restaurants I have ever visited. I would come back here in a heartbeat and will be recommending this fantastic restaurant to everyone! Thank you so much for such a lovely evening.

A lovely restaurant with a warm, relaxed atmosphere and cheerful staff who made us feel very welcome. The menu is quite limited, aiming for a fine dining experience, and while the quality is generally high, it does come at a fairly steep price. Most of our group really enjoyed their meals. I had the trio of pork and beef to start—personally, I found the beef a bit overpowering and the pork slightly dry. The desserts, however, were outstanding and easily the highlight of the meal. I’d definitely recommend dining here, but be sure to book in advance and be prepared for the higher-end pricing.

Family run and with a menu that changes every 6 weeks to keep things seasonal and local. The dining area is small but booking can be done online (we used this for lunchtime and got text and email confirmation) as well phone. Its been ages since we had 3 courses but went for scallops, mackerel pate, then local hake and the chicken. I was intrigued enough to order the Guinness sticky toffee pudding and the cheesecake (locals petitioned for it return to the menu) and both were really good. Well cooked, beautifully plated and served by charming waitress, it was well worth the visit.

We booked months ago to visit this restaurant as last year we tried to get in and could not as such a small place and as such great reviews!! Was so happy to be able to finally get a booking and yes we checked out menu way before booking to see if it was to our taste which it was and even checked again night before .. we come to looe once a year and know well in advance to book restaurants in as can be busy certain times of the year .it was our 40th wedding anniversary so wanted something special..entered at given time seated and waited to get served during waiting overheard a conversation ( earing aids pick up alot trust me ) lady came over and said have you not been given menu yet ( no) just after a guy came over and my husband was about to order a bottle of wine looked at him and said wait so asked guy what have you not got on menu ? ( back to overheard conversation) items we wanted not available as none left so guy started pointing to items they have left as I don't eat fish or pasta and menu very limited which don't get me wrong we knew of ..in 40 years of marriage I have never walked out of a restaurant due to the fact food not available or paid to stay and eat something just to be there..my poor husband was absolutely mortified and said he was embarrassed to ever book to go back not because of me but because we had to leave due to availability..will say our booking was early and not late but maybe as a small business think about pre orders of certain items so not to make people feel awkward enough to have to say sorry but no thankyou and leave ..will also add told guy I feel bad for them as somebody else could of had booking ...not nice for everyone in this situation ... Have since talked to others if im wrong in this situation all said no 💯 no as i felt so bad for my hubby as it was supposed to be special to us for our anniversary in a place we so love ❤️ As we love local home cooked food no matter the cost ( not about cost it's about taste and value for what you pay service atmosphere ) .. why have and pay for something just to visit in the most expensive restaurant in looe ..on night it came across as restaurant was full of locals who we have since found out get loyalty ( read reviews somebody stated this ) also overheard another local having a go because they had to move because somebody sat by them had a disability aid in there way as they where quite rude about it and open when nice people commented on there food and said you was over there and not here then rude people told them why 😡 ( which fyi there food was no longer available and owner said nothing ) I was so happy that I didn't sit by them before leaving as I have a walking stick due to a bad accident . Apparently it's the norm as this place shuts from sat till tue and it's common for them not to have food availability...let people pre order mains...

I emailed this restaurant after an awful experience and refrained from posting a bad review out of respect and also confusion as to why there are so many good reviews but a month later they haven’t even bothered replying. My partner and I came here whilst on holiday and had one of the worst meals we ever experienced. For 2 mains, 1 lemonade and 1 soft drink the bill was £70, we were truly astonished at the cost vs the quality. I can honestly say we’ve had better meals in Wetherspoons. The pork tenderloin was dry and flavourless, not a single bit of seasoning, the pork belly was rock hard and inedible (should be crispy but edible) fish was unseasoned, along with the basic boiled vegetables and garlic mash had no garlic in it, the new potatoes were more like jackets, massive and again, flavourless. The only decent part of the meal was the pork croquette and the lemonade. Such a shame as this was our ‘special’ holiday meal after both a recommendation and google reviews we had high hopes but left very disappointed, £70 out of pocket and not even a response to my email when asking why our experience differed to much from all the reviews....
