I won’t be visiting this pub again after having the barmaid barking out her orders. My dog was choking under the table so i raised it briefly to the seat to assist. (which was away from the table in the middle of a bench seat). Immediately the barmaid barked her order mouthing FLOOR. I also witnessed her shouting from behind the bar at a child to go and wait with parents in the doorway. The child had got bored/tired and went to sit down. I understand children shouldn’t be near the bar area but there are ways and means to address paying customers, the signage was also very small and unnoticeable upon arrival. Once patents sat down, she was trying to direct them to sit around the corner. On finishing our food, the plates were taken whilst still chewing as if to get us moving on. This place doesn’t feel very family friendly for a lunchtime visit, more for the night scene unfortunately. We were not tourists, we live in the West Country and trying out some of the venues on our doorstep but this wasn’t a...
Read moreThought we would pop in here as looked like a nice old pub. Me and my child went in thinking another party member was in they weren't so, so we went to the back as we are a large group. Child went to the toilet and we were going to wait for everyone else. While my child was in the toilet the handful of people that were in there started talking about us. Needless to say I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. I messaged the rest of the party to say we will meet outside and go somewhere else. I then was followed out of the pub. Felt terrible I didn't buy that drink we were planning and they lost a party of 11 peoples custom. If they had an issue with us using the toilet before ording they could have spoken to me and I would have explained not talk about us. We ended up in a pub further up the road that was busy, had a lovely garden and a much more...
Read moreWell, I wouldn't recommend it and we will never go here again The bar man was rude. My husband had finished his drink and I had a quarter of mine left. He went to the bar to purchase 2 more drinks. The bar man looked over to me and stared, and said I shouldn't have another drink cause I hadn't completely finished my first drink. He eventually served us, but it was very uncomfortable. I am not aware of any law stating that you have to completely finish a drink before you can order another, especially when you are with someone else. We have come to looe 6 times a year for many years , we now have a caravan here, but will never step foot in here again. The bar man needs to learn to be friendly and not be so jumped up. Its a shame, cause I assume it is the landlord at the end of the bar...
