We received a warm welcome to the Foundry Project from Ray, which included a big fuss for our dog.
Service was great, staff were helpful (advising they had a happy hour promo and what was included). It had a warm welcoming atmosphere with the decoration being 'chic upcycled/reclaimed warehouse style' feel to it.
The food was great. Fab burgers and the pizza base was perfectly thin n crispy (like they make in Italy). The topping was generous and tasty. Chips/fries with the burger weren't the best - pale and a bit limp so could improve here.
Overall very good. We would have given 5* but as shareholders we get occasional perks such as discount vouchers for food which the staff didn't know how to apply at the till. Resulting in a food bill and a separate drinks bill, which was fine but it took an awful long time to sort, with most staff looking on as if we were some kind of stupid. After finally paying we noticed the separate drinks bill was also wrong so had to go back to the bar yet again.
As we had been in over happy hour BUT paid our bill after 9pm, they overcharged on several drinks (blaming the till). That cannot be right when all drinks were ordered and added to the tab before 9pm. Three of the dozen or so drinks we ordered were charged at full rate. Bit of a faff in the end which tainted and otherwise...
Read moreUnderwhelming food but the décor and vibe, even though it was very empty when we went (6-7.30pm) was promising and very current and to a fairly high standard. Loaded up on rocket as they 'run out' of spinach leaves! On a quiet Monday night? Forgot to order possibly but I had to ask why no spinach before I found the reason as the meal came just on a bed of rocket, no explanation. Very quick service, though my sweet potato fries were forgotten and came later, but were good. Something missing in the dairy deserts and cheese, quite possibly the whole 'Vegan' friendly menu. That means no nice textures of flavours for those that just want good food. Bring back butter, cream, proper cheese etc! Vegans go to a vegan restaurant? Why try and do half a job, let the chefs have their rein and make things how they used to. Service tried and apologised for things, reluctantly not charging for the salted caramel (vegetarian) ice cream which just was not right! Overall I might go back to give them a second chance but not my other half. But the loos were and clean smart apparently and that is generally a good sign someone is trying. Got a 30% off voucher but it is only off the bigger mains meals which saved just under £5. Not a great saving but it got...
Read moreWent to the Foundry Project for a colleague’s leaving party, when we arrived they started by telling us half the desserts we had preordered was unavailable, when the food started to arrive the burgers which where ordered came with no buns or as they say naked?? We all ordered normal burgers in our preorders, when they brought the food back how we had ordered them they was cold and still missing items but we was hungry so we started to eat. They did start to turn up with some of the items they had missed but not all. When we finished the cold food we waited an hour for what desserts they said they did have but this was only after I went and talked to the server and during this time the server collected half the meal plates then stopped collecting to have some food?? He then sent some one else to collect plates he took 2 more then disappeared???. The service was terrible and there was just nothing from the staff when talked to about it . Only time they wanted to help was to get the payment with no real apology and then when a colleague asked about the manager they was told he was drunk from drinking all day - with that we left that’s 12 customers they have lost and they...
