Frydales of Leicester — Restaurant in England

hi, sorry to write a review but we had a family meal from hinckley rd last night, normally we use syston every week but were in leics so used hinckley rd, syston is top notch, never had a problem but hinckley rd is totally different, firstly ordered the family meal -2 plain sausage,2 battered with chips ,2 peas,2 curry sauce, didn't wait long but on opening the bag at home there was 2 sausage missing, i phoned the site & was told the young girl on the till hadn't got the option to increase the order-it only comes with 2 main items plus 4 sides, -i said that's not what it says on the advert, & she said she didn't know about that but if i come back to the shop tonight or another night i can have 2 sausage, i have to say the chips were excellent but the battered sausage were dripping in oil, never had that at syston maybe just not warmed enough so we binned them & had chips & sauce, admittedly there was only 2 working in the shop but it seems dis organised if the girl on the till cant see the offers you advertise, after i had asked for 2 plain & 2 battered sausage, why did she not query this at ordering,- we have never had the family meal before we just wanted something quick & simple after shopping, sorry to have to write this normally frydales is excellent so maybe just an off day, after this experience we shall drive the extra & use syston where we know its consistent high quality. thank you for taking the time...

Ordered 1x Mixed Kebab with Salad, Garlic Mayo / Received 1x 4x 4 Fish Bite Children's Meal / Received 1x 1x Fishcake Children’s Meals / Received 1x 1x Mushy Peas / Received 1x

On phone been told to go thru refund process and they won't be sorting this out. Another call later they offered to go and fill ''refund on order for all items missing'' and put another order with exactly same items when they will just send out 3x 4 Fish Bite Children's Meal. Realistically putting me out of 50£ for both orders combined in ''hopes'' to get first order refunded. However i declined as i have no trust to company that makes mistake and then puts it for ''customer'' to fix , rather than finding driver themselves and sending missing products. What if i end up with 2 orders both being wrong and 50£ out of pocket, no thanks, avoiding at all costs and will tell everyone i know to avoid...

Visited Frydales for the 1st time yesterday and was very impressed with the quality of the food. Ordered a Large Cod and Chips which came to a tenner - All was cooked fresh upon ordering so there was a small wait of around 10 mins which is no biggy. Would rather wait a while for freshly cooked produce than being given products that have been sitting under warmers for ages Fish was gorgeous light, crispy batter and tasty. Chips were just right and plenty of them too. Couldn't finish all of the chips because there were so many and would most probably order a regular size portion next time Nice to see a young business concentrate on quality over quantity. I shall definitely visit again - not the cheapest chippy but you get what you pay...
