Poor service by management please read: We booked Chef and Spice on Friday when we spoke to a lady and explained that we were booking for a birthday celebration so there was a family of 13 of us. We advised that we were happy to book three separate tables as there were three families and happy to soavial distance as would be expected in these times. The lady we spoke to advised we didn't need to book three separate tables and would honour the BOGOF free offer as we would be paying on separate cards even thoughthe offer conditions did state it was a maximum of 6 per table. To be honest that made sense to us as we were all paying separately as families anyway. We went to celebrate today and first they over charged us for the drinks. We finally rectified that and they then didnt honour the offer. Once we confirmed we had booked with the offer (as confirmed on the phone) they gave us a new bill which stupidly we paid three ways on separate cards. We dodnt check thinking that it couldn't be wrong again, but they were. So we then went back again to the guy who said he could honour 6 people!! So we explained what was said on the phone and that we would be happy to book separately. The manager then came out to basically tell us that we were lying. He was extremely rude and not willing to listen. I advised we even had messages to prove what was said on the group but he was not willing to listen or even look at the messages. He just kept saying as good will ill refund one person. Bearing in mind we'd paid for an additional 7. Finally in anger a member of the family said he would approach a bank and the manager just walked off. I approached him again and asked him to bring the lady oit but he just was mot willing to listen. The food was good and service was ok too. But they dont even start cooking a lot of it till after 6.30 and yet charge the same? Then over charge on drinks and food. Finally when it does get resolved they make up odd rules eveb after they've e agreed to wave the maximum of 6 on their own terms. Basically the company is money hungry. I do understand companies are going through hard times, but cheating customers isn't going to help their company. I advised the manager that we would rather not take it to the bank because i know they would credit everything and take it from the company. I just wanted him to resolve it but he insisted we took it up with the bank. If companies carry on like this it will be their attitude that will make them go bust not the...
Read moreWe went as a party of 8, for my friends birthday on new years day lunch time. It was great when we arrived.. place was immaculate the waiting staff were polite and friendly. Then things just went down hill....a few of our party were strict vegetarians and unfortunately there was two occasions of cross contamination that we witnessed the first at the noodle station where a piece of raw chicken had fallen into the vegetable section, when we tried to raise this with the guy behind the station he couldn't see the point... Then at the curry pots... one of the waiters was going around stirring the pots from time to time. The mattar paneer was next to the chicken curry and the guy used the spoon from the chicken curry to turn the paneer. For people who are vegetarians this is a big deal. The final issue relates to the rude and patronising bar man. In our party we all ordered drinks and one of the mocktails was served in a glass that was crumbling at the bottom. This was not noticed until the person had drunk part of the drink. Upon noticing this we called a waiter over and explained the issue, he took the drink and simply poured it into another glass, now I don't know what whether they are aware of what customer service is... but surely they would apologise and replace the drink especially given the crumbling glass it had been served in. When we questioned this.. the bar man with his black gloves and awful attitude comes marching over... he leans over the table and says what's the issue, you returned the drink saying the glass was broken and so we changed the glass. We tried to explain the broken glass particles could have been in the drink and that he should have replaced the drink. He then started to raise his voice and asked at what point did we realise the glass was broken and that half of the drink had already been consumed,...insinuating we were just trying to get a free drink. At this point I reminded him that the drink shouldn't have left his bar in a broken glass in the first place, that he should have ensured for the safety of his customers that all glasses are checked. He was very annoyed at this and told me "not to be cocky" like what the hell how can any member of staff speak to a customer like that. There was no apology for his error and on top of that he tried to belittle his customers. This bar man needs to attend a course on...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chef and Spice for a family function, and I must say, it was an experience to remember. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the stage for what turned out to be a culinary journey beyond expectation.
The food at Chef and Spice was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish was crafted with care and attention to detail, resulting in flavors that danced on the palate. The starters, in particular, were a highlight of the evening. The chicken starter, in all its glory, stood out with its perfect seasoning and tantalising texture. Moving on to the main course, the curries were simply divine. The tender meat, bathed in rich, flavorful sauces, was a testament to the chef's expertise. Each curry boasted a unique blend of spices that elevated the dish to new heights. And let's not forget about the side dishes and accompaniments, which complemented the mains perfectly, adding depth and variety to the meal.
