China Chef — Local services in Great Britain

The food is great and we’ve been loyal customers for many months but last night my partner and I didn’t receive our food so we called up for the lady behind the counter to tell us that our food had been delivered to a 24 year old who was drunk and was having a party. We explained over the phone that we had not had the food delivered and that it must have been delivered to the wrong place. The delivery driver decided to call us back calling us liars and that he definitely delivered the food to the right place even though he couldn’t possibly have confirmed that over the phone.

After arguing back and forth on the phone being called a liar almost 10 times, the lady behind the counter told us that the driver had worked for the company for many years and couldn’t have possibly made a mistake and that if we wanted new food we would have to collect as the driver would be returning.

After arriving at their takeaway, the driver walked in and we asked him if he’d delivered the food to us but he said now, we showed him a picture of our door and he still claimed he delivered the food to that door and the women behind the counter were agreeing with him,!!!!!!!!!

We didn’t want a refund, we wanted our food, what use would it be to us to get too helpings of food, 2 hours apart, it doesn’t make any sense.

My partner and I had to try and prove to a room full of people that we were not LIARS.

We have never had such a DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE. I don’t know how many time we were told that we were lying even though we told them to send the delivery driver to our house so we could prove that it was sent to the wrong house but the restaurant decided to continuously side with the delivery driver.

I can say one thing is for sure….. I Will never spend a penny at this disgusting business ever again, the fact that we had to fight for our food which was delivered to someone else is unreal.

Word of advice to this awful takeaway:

YOUR WORKERS CAN MAKE MISTAKES, OWN UP TO THEM. DONT CALL YOUR CUSTOMERS LIARS DONT ARGUE WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS.

I’ll be making sure to tell every one I know to avoid this place...

I'd highly recommend anyone to avoid this company and order elsewhere.

Placed an order online on their website at 8.21pm - delivery for 9.41pm. At 22.13pm we had to call to find out where our food was for us to be told the driver will be about 20 more minutes. So ok - That's fine. 10.35pm we ring back as no food delivered still to then be told the delivery driver cannot bring our food he broke down apparently, then changed the words to had accident so can't deliver. OK. So I've waited 2 and a bit hours for food and your still not delivering. Asked for a refund to order elsewhere. They kept hanging up on the phone stating they couldn't refund us or cancel the order and that they would bring us food another day with free spring rolls. Jokes aside. When they finally answered again they decided to state they didn't keep hanging up the battery on the phone keeps dying. Then spoke to each other in their language to create a barrier and laughed. So we are now at 11.01pm no food. No refund. The shop closed at 10.50pm. So great stuff. No food tonight! That'll teach us.

Having to go through emails and ringing mealsonline who provide these with their website to try and get a refund which in turn will then take roughly 5 days. Thanks a bunch china chef!

I will make it my mission to state for everyone to see HIGHLY AVOID!!!!

Not even the first time we have had issues as usually the driver goes 5 doors down trying to deliver to a different door and complete different house number. Then on another occasion food was over an hour late again so we then had to get it collected. Absolute nightmare of customer service. Disgusting behaviour from staff members laughing on the phone when it's orders coming in from people like us that pay your wages!!!

Shame you have no option on this review for a no star! As giving them a 1 star is far...

Under the new name new China chef: I honestly felt I had to come back and leave another review, this restaurant closed for what ever reason but saw today its open again (thank god) I obviously had abit of a worry to why it closed but thought I'd try it anyway and omg I didn't think this restuarant could have got better but some how it did!! By far the best Chinese I've ever had, everything was perfect and arrived early so basically now I might as well declare myself bankrupt because I'm officially addicted.. Again. Love the veg crispy spring roll, best I've tried and I've tried many places, Bbq could do with changing its more like gravy than Bbq sauce and ordered the pork in Bbq sauce tonight which is was abit fatty but maybe that's just me who's picky, overall fab Chinese and will continue to use.(7months ago)

Edit - 17.03.23 Still the best Chinese by far! Had thr beef and chicken curry it's just so nice. Tonight our order took 10 mins from order being confirmed to delivery and the food was still fabulous. Thankyou again China chef from 375 Ps only thing I would change is sometimes the prawn Crackers are abit under done and abit hard but considering we get them for free I can't moan so thanks for always being reliable...
