Gabrielle's — Restaurant in England

At the point of booking the £70 per person christmas day dinner for 6 people, I informed Gabrielles that one of the party is only 2 years old. We were joining another party who also had a toddler. When we arrived we were told that there was no high chair as they only have one in the entire restaurant. We were taken aback at this when they clearly knew in advance that more than one high chair would be required on the day. We were also taken aback at the unprofessional attitude we received when voicing our disappointment and concern that a 2 year old was expected to sit on a normal adult chair. This was christmas day and we were worried for the impact a potentially disruptive child (at no fault of our own) could have on the other diners. All we heard from the manager and our waiter was "we only have one highchair". I don't understand how this statement is at all helpful or caring and I would like to add that the whole situation was extremely stressful for all.of us and to be honest quite embarrassing. Pulling up to the restaurant, straight away there was an italian vibe.

Chilled, soft music in the background just loud enough to hear but not drown out conversations.

Food, absolutely exquisite. Fantastic portions and amazing flavours.

Value for money, for the level of food on offer id have expected to pay double than what we did.

Staff. Every single one of the team were suoer friendly, really attentive and seemed genuinely happy to do everything they could for you.

Are you looking for the best seafood restaurant in the town? Don't look any further! 🦐 Here, I had the best mussels ever! This was the place we visited over and over again while living in Bishop Auckland. Never disappointed us! 😍 The food is amazing, and the service is excellent! ❤️ Want to have a drink after or before your dinner? Why not try the bar next door, Il Vino?
