OUTSTANDING Quick overview Very friendly service Great food Decent portion size Very reasonably priced Went here for lunch, I would recommend booking as it was nearly full when we were there. The lunch time menu is 2 courses £11.95 or 3 courses £13.95 (£2 for dessert, yes please) For starter we shared Turkish Sausage & spinach and Cheese Borek. The starter comes with a side of warm warm Turkish Bread with two dips (not sure what they were but they tasted like a mint yoghurt and spicy salsa) Both starters were delicious. The Turkish Sausage was not too spicy, but full of flavour and the Borek was very light and tasty for sharing two starters, these worked well together For mains we had Salmon Shish Kebab and Shish Kofte Both served with side salad and rice. The salmon was beautifully cooked, not a lot of seasoning on it, which was good because you could still taste the salmon. The Shish Kofte was possibly one of best I have tasted! Similarly to the Salmon, it had seasoning, but not to much so you could taste the Lamb. Rice was plain but as there was a lot of flavour elsewhere on the plate that was not a bad thing. The salad had lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, mix peppers and a Vinaigrette dressing, the salad tasted very fresh. Due to decent portion sizes we unfortunately did not have room for dessert. A very good visit, and we will definitely be returning.

"We recently had a mixed experience at Galata Mezze Restaurant. The food was truly exceptional – I enjoyed the mixed grill with chips, and my husband loved the lamb casserole. The waitresses upstairs were friendly, professional, and attentive, which earned them a well-deserved tip. However, our experience was marred by an unfortunate incident involving Naomi, a waitress. Despite booking a 7 pm table and requesting to sit upstairs (as my husband had been there before), we were informed that it was fully booked. To our surprise, a white couple who arrived shortly after us was seated upstairs without issue. When we brought this to the attention of another waitress, Naomi explained that we should have specified upstairs seating when booking. This explanation fell short, as you don't get asked about seating preference when you call to make reservations, and new customers wouldn't necessarily know about the upstairs seating option. Fortunately, another waitress intervened, found us a seat upstairs, and apologized for the inconvenience. Nevertheless, the incident left a sour taste, and we couldn't help but feel that we were treated differently due to our skin color. In 2025, it's disheartening to encounter such behavior. While the food was excellent, this experience has made us hesitant to return if Naomi is still working there."

Second visit. Food v good. But again a bit odd in one respect. I ordered a portion of taramasalata as my starter. Comes as a very generous portion. But absolutely no bread! You are expected to eat it with the nice - but understandably - small serving of complimentary bread and 2 little dips. Well, when you are with two other people there isn't enough to eat much of your taramasalata starter. When I asked about some bread for my starter I was told I was expected to take from the complimentary serving. But there's hardly any bread as it's complimentary with those dips. Anyway, all good natured. I did ask for extra bread please and got it, freshly made, without an additional charge. Just really odd to me. Last time it was the same for my hummus starter. Paying £90+ for food you would hope to get a bit of bread...

Faultless !

Yesterday we had a family wedding (my sister in-law) and the chosen venue was GALATA Mezze.

As the title suggests, it was in fact, faultless. There were 36 of us in total who occupied the entire upstairs area. When we sat down and I looked around, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who thought ….“how are they going to keep up the service demands”…but they did !!

I didn’t get the waitresses name, but in my honest opinion, she set the benchmark for the meaning of “Waitress”. She was always there at the right time when a drink wanted to be ordered or some demand attended too, and did it calmly, with ease and a friendly smile every time. The timing between starter and main food arriving on our tables was spot on for me, just as I was looking down the corridor wondering when the mains were coming, they arrived.

Bear in mind you are eating at a Turkish restaurant so not all people are going to like / enjoy the food, that’s just the way it is. However, and again this is just opinion but I thought the food was fantastic ! I had garlic mushrooms for starters and got to taste the white bait also which was equally delicious.I had the mixed grill for mains, the meat was cooked exactly how I liked it and it tasted great, with no bloating or distended guy issues after.

The whole team of waiters and waitress, including the chefs did a fantastic job, and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend this place and will be returning again in the not too...
