Meridian Spice — Restaurant in England

As a family we usually opt for Meridian Spice if we’re going to eat out, we won’t be going forward though, as when I tried to book a table earlier this week for nine young adults, at 5.30 on a Thursday evening, I was met with complete rudeness!

I was asked to leave a deposited but said that I’d prefer not to because my son would be too embarrassed to ask everyone for the money back, instead I offered to leave my card details to secure the table if that would help but the guy refused this and instead told me that without a deposit they wouldn’t hold the table and if they were to just turn up without a booking they wouldn’t be given a table - even though every time we’ve been there around that time the restaurant been totally empty?!

So I instead called the Tarana (just over the road) and my goodness what a totally different experience!! No deposit, no card required, they welcomed the boys making them feel very welcome and I even had a text message after the group left to tell me what a lovely bunch they were!!

Meridian - you have just lost your next generation of paying diners!

Saturday night we had not booked anything 2 Indian restaurants opposite each other been in the other one so a big mistake went into this one the waiter was as if he didn't want to be there didn't look at anyone while talking our order he got the beers wrong then the poperdoms arrived tasted like burt oil sent them back three new ones tasted right lamb tikka starter was tough as old boots all main meals ok one of us asked for a doggy bag as he likes cold curry the waiter goes ok and walks off comes back with foil tin and lid and literally chucked it on the table and walked off all 4 of us just l laughed at how rude he was asked the young waiter the same thing he took the plate away came back in the tin foil but no bag I've been having Indian for 48 years I worked it out and have never had that before. Went to this restaurant on Monday evening, & will.not return, started with no heating in the restaurant as a large drinking table complained it was to hot & they can't put the heating back on as I explained I was cold not interested, then I asked for a glass of dry wine no suitable wine only sweet, the only dry wine was a bottled which was £20 /£30 depending on the wine, hubby had a bottle of beer, my hubby ordered 2 poppadoms not good, 2 limp rags that call.poppadoms omg, at that stage we asked for the bill, we had a feeling it was going to get worse, waiter with a really bad attitude came over, we paid £11 for the privilege of been cold, no with one bottle of beer & 2 limp rags call poppadoms, we paid and left, with hubby's bottle of beer and went else where which was fabulous, we don't...
